I use these for testing sound systems. The one works great and has low distortion. The round trip distortion comes in at about 0.005%, an SNR of 86 dB.Not bad for this price.

I have yet to fully take advantage of all of the software that comes courtesy of Native instruments, but what I can say so far is I am extremely happy with this interface.I have a dual keyboard rig with a mixer. The lower board is my controller for my cubase daw. However, my pc suddenly got noise in the usb hub internally. I now route the mixer into the komplete and connect the komplete to the computer. Even better I still have my keyboard connected to the computer. The native instruments pieces show up in cubase as vst and are controlled by my keyboard. One caveat is that the komplete doesn't allow direct monitoring of it's outputs so I set up ableton live (also came with the komplete) with a profile that allows me to monitor the outs.To avoid the above I suggest using the komplete 6, which does have monitoring on the outputs. My setup allows me access to a fully functional daw, great audio out for my computer, and the ability to use headphones when not using external speakers. Plus I got a full suite of music production software. A huge bonus.I'm extremely please with this product.

I needed a replacement interface after my previous Behringer died following years of constant use and was led down this rabbit hole by top ten lists repeatedly naming it easy to use and pristine quality. The build is incredibly weak made of a polished plastic that gives it both an incredibly bright sheen and a look similar to packaging of toys. The pots are smooth in movement but get hot incredibly fast, anything past 70% is clipping and distorted, at least for the condenser mics I used. The input/output capacity is what made me return the product as it only became audible when it started clipping and even at that peaking at -6dB where the product's home page specifically names max microphone input volume as +7dB. I made tests with several different microphones including a Rode NT1-A, SM57, SM58, and a Presonus condenser mic. Each ran into the same issue with peaking at -6dB and clipping anytime they got near that, running a Line In from my Axe Fx III the same issue came up attenuating the Line In from the Axe Fx and clipping it when trying to bring it up to a reasonable volume.Setup is straightforward enough but the interface is too expensive for something that feels like a toy and doesn't function well enough to actually record music, stream, or have a call.

I bought this audio interface to connect an XLR cardioid condenser microphone to my pc. It was between this and the popular Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. I chose this as it has a separate knob control for monitor (input/host) where you can adjust the level of how much pc audio you hear vs how much of your own monitor you hear. While it does work fine, depending on your headphones ohm rating, you may need further amplification to hear both loud enough. This unit has worked flawlessly, glad I chose it over the Focusrite that many people in reddit seem to have issues with. I don't use any of the software it came with and I haven't connected monitors to it yet.

UPDATE - I liked the KA2 so much when I reviewed it for my YouTube channel, I ended up choosing the KA6 mkII as my go-to interface for recording all of the audio for my videos. So everything that I do on my channel from now on will be through the KA6. It's perfect for my needs. I can send a line out from my channel strip to record voice, plus a stereo pair of line outputs from whichever interface I'm reviewing. And it runs off of bus power, so no AC wall wart required! So far, so good. This has quickly become my favorite entry-level interface.(Original review below)I'm a home recording enthusiast, and I review audio interfaces on my YouTube channel, so I've used quite a few of them at this point in my life. Honestly, I went into the KA2 with a bit of a bias against it, due to the negative reviews that I've seen around the web. But this little guy actually surprised me.Preamps are solid. They have ample gain, and enough headroom (something sorely lacking in other entry-level interfaces). I was able to use condenser, dynamic, and ribbon microphones to record vocals, kick and snare drums, and hand percussion without any issues. I was able to record bass guitar direct without any problems, and it sounded pretty darned good.Driver installation was fine, and I was able to configure it without any issues. Drivers are OK. Latency is average. Just under 10ms round-trip at 128 samples. It uses the exact same ASIO control panel as the Behringer U-Phoria UMC HD series. It provided control over ASIO buffer size, but no control over sample rate, so you'll have to rely on your DAW to override the sample rate setting. The software bundle is a bit of a pain to locate and download. Basically you have to use Native Instruments' stand-alone installer/license app (Native Access) but there aren't clear indications on their website that that's how you're supposed to license your interface and download/install all of the bundled software. As far as the software bundle itself, there is a lot of content there. But you'll hit limitations as far as demo versions or not-quite-full versions of Kontakt, Maschine, and Reaktor. You can get by with what's provided due to the sheer quantity of what's included, but you'll soon bump into limitations that will require additional purchases. Still, for the price, it's a pretty impressive bundle. The shining star of the bundle to me is the Solid Bus Compressor. That thing is...uh...solid. As the name implies. I immediately took a liking to it, and upon further use, it has become one of my favorite compressors ever. And that's coming from a guy that has a pair of Distressors in his rack :)The main cons:- no 5-pin MIDI. That is surprising, considering that it's geared towards the electronic musician- headphone output is pretty weak, but not awful- the overall feel is very plastic- if I ever had a technical issue, I have no confidence that NI tech support would ever help meThe main pros:- best knobs in the business. Seriously, the main output knob on the top is a buttery-smooth tactile joy to turn. Front panel knobs are the sturdiest feeling knobs on the market.- 5-segment LED signal indicators on the top. Why don't all manufacturers provide this? It's great.- solid preamps with an impressive gain range- best-in-class software bundleOverall, I'd recommend this interface if you're shopping in the entry-level 2x2 market. As far as sound quality and functionality, it holds its own against similar offerings from Focusrite, Steinberg, Behringer, and Roland. Toss in the software bundle and the lower-than-the-other-guys price point and I think that this is a very attractive option if you're looking to dabble in home recording.
