I've traveled with this shorty, and used it in 74 degree water for 40min dives. Most people forget that even if the water is warm, if it's below your body temp, you will lose body heat to the surrounding water. As it's a shorty, it's more comfortable to wear on the hot boat vs a full suit. Also, at 3mm, it's just thick enough to be able to wear in a variety of situations. If the water is warmer then 78, I wear a full sleeve rash guard. Lower then 70, I wear a full 3mm suit for warm water dives. There have not been any wear issues along the shoulders or back. I dive with a simple backplate wing, single tank.

Hi, I know this will sound strange, but I actually use shorty wetsuits for working out. I know, right... but hear me out. I have been doing this for about 20 years, and it works out great, because it provides better muscle support than a compression shirt, keeps your muscles warm, so less likelihood of injury, and you sweat a lot! Just be kind to others and wear shorts and a t-shirt over the wetsuit at the gym )))Having said this, I chose this wetsuit because it was thicker than the others i looked at. Once it arrived, I found that the fit is great and being a thicker neoprene, it provides a lot of support. I can easily perform all of my exercises, without restriction.I am 6", 200 lbs with an athletic build... i ordered a size Large, even though the chart suggested an XL. I did this for the "compression" fit for working out. An XL would have worked well for diving, etc... but i needed a specific fit for exercise.Great product, very well made, and great design. Very solid product.

Great suit! Fits great. I am a size 14 normally... went according to their chart and ordered a smaller size accordingly and it fits nicely. Very pleased! Great quality for the price.

I have not decided whether I will be using this suit in the water yet as it fits a little funky for me personally but I thought I would leave a sizing review for other people trying to decide on a size. I ordered a size 14, I am 5'10", 190lbs, 36FF chest, 34" waist. It fits comfortably out of water but I am pretty sure it will be too big once in water everywhere but the neck and torso length. The torso is too short and both rides up a little bit and pulls at the shoulder and the neck is a little snug.

Excellent wetsuit! I don't understand what all the fuss about sizing is. After reading reviews, and taking others advice, I ordered a size larger than I normally would. What a big mistake! I had to return the XL for an L! Amazon was great with the return although for my trusting reviewers, it cost me a few bucks in shipping. Not a big deal because I normally wear a size L and that is what I ended up with. Wetsuits in general are tricky biz and if you are not willing to deal with the returns process, I strongly recommend you buy at a shop where you can try them on. Buying on line, NeoSport makes a great product! The feel is flexible enough for swimming and the 3mm keeps me warm. I am using the suit primarily to swim in the ocean when the temps are in the 60's and so far, this suit is living up to expectations. Solid construction regarding seams and a great zipper that is easy to reach. All in all, an excellent value!

As others said, beware of the fit. At 5'8 and 170 lbs, I would normally wear a medium, but based on other reviews I went with large. Good thing, because the large is even on the small side. I've worn wetsuits at different stages of my life and know how they should fit and this one is at least one size too snug.It does insulate pretty well and it extended my swim season by a month with pool water down to 70 degrees. I'm a bit wimpy when it comes to swimming in colder water than that... also knowing that the air temp is going to be below 70 too.

The wet suit seams are quality. The zipper and Velcro seem robust and well made. I followed the recommendations and got a size up from what the size chart says. I am 6' 0". Chest 38.5". Waist 35.5". Based on the chart, that should have sized me to a medium. I got a large and am very happy with the fit. The legs are snug and tight, but not too tight. The waist and chest are a tiny bit looser, but there isn't any real skin/neoprene air gap. There's no real pooching anywhere wither. The fit for me is a lot like the model in the picture (only I'm better looking, ha ha - I wish) with the exception that sleeves have a little more room, but then my biceps are a little smaller. Hope this info helps someone fit themselves for what should be a great wet suit.Update: After one week in San Diego using the suit, I still have good things to say about it. The sizing got looser once I hit the water, but I'm still happy with the one size larger choice. the sleaves sometimes folded under as I used it but it wasn't annoying or anything. It likely just created a better seal at my arm holes.I didn't come away with any rashes or chaffing. One other side thought. For surfing I would get a full length suit. Even thought the suit worked well and I stayed warm, my knees are a little chaffed from kneeling on the board and I had to keep putting on sun screen on my arms and legs.

I really don't have anything to compare this to becasue it is my first wetsuit. From others I looked at when shopping and saw on the beach, this one was up there with just about all of them. I used it at Imperial Beach, CA where the water Temp was in the low 60's. It was comfortable and kept me warm. It's not the flashiest or most stylish, but it worked great and did what it was supposed to do. If you are look for a value wetsuit that you may only use a couple times a year, this is a great suit for you. Quality is good and got the job done.
