  • Class-leading AD-converter resolution with a dynamic range of 136 dB
  • 4 line/monitor outputs, 2 ultra-low impedance headphone outputs with adjustable crossfeed
  • 2 premium-quality mic/line preamps, 2 pristine line/instrument inputs
  • DSP processing (EQ, dynamics, reverb)
  • 4 independent mixers with integrated talkback
  • USB, ADAT and AES67 connectivity

The MT 48 brings Neumann quality to the digital workflow. It is the first audio interface in its class that is able to capture the full dynamic range of Neumann microphones and is optimally matched to the KH-Line of studio monitors and Neumann headphones. The result is an ideal signal chain without any bottlenecks: uncompromising sound quality from the microphone diaphragm to your ear. The MT 48 is an audio interface and digital mixing desk in one. You can use its DSP processing for monitoring only, or you can print effects while recording. Or both at the same time! Thanks to the unique Dual Output Technology, wet and dry signals can be recorded simultaneously via separate driver channels. So, if necessary, you can fall back on an unprocessed backup. Despite its enormous scope of features, the MT 48 always remains easy to operate. All settings can be made on the device itself via the built-in touchscreen. The perfect monitor mix is just a touch away! Simply use your fingers to adjust pan pots, channel faders and much more, without having to switch to a mixer software on your computer. The MT 48 can even be operated stand-alone as a mixing console. The MT 48 leaves nothing to be desired: audio quality at the highest level, built-in DSP processing, comprehensive expandability, and convenient operation via touchscreen. The MT 48 is the missing link in the Neumann universe, connecting microphones, loudspeakers and headphones to create the perfect studio.

I've had this only for about a week know, and I love everything about it. It's easy to use, sounds amazing, great build quality, and most important for me it works flawlessly on Windows 11 (unlike the Apollo, which has laughably mediocre Windows support). I guess the only downside to coming from an Apollo to this is no longer being able to use UAD plugins right out the box during calls (which you couldn’t even do on Windows in the first place lol) but that was a very simple fix with LightHost and a virtual audio cable. Well worth the upgrade.

Really well built but I’ve had some issues with Mac OS Sonoma. Still, phenomenal sound

M2 Mac compatibility is a question mark here.Connection drop outs made the MT48 unusable on M2 Mac. Firmware update was needed but the Toolkit download from the Neumann website wouldn’t function (or appear in the menu bar like it says it does) on the M2.*Had to download the Toolkit onto an M1 machine and update the firmware there. After firmware update the connection between the MT48 and the M2 Mac seems to have stabilized, but functions found via the Toolkit, like firmware updates, Remote Control, etc are still not accessible on the M2.ROUGH start with Neumann and the most expensive upgrade ever made to my studio to date. Neumann support was quick to respond initially but then dropped off when the most basic solutions proposed didn’t work. Disappointing. And one more small thing here… for this price you’d expect the MT48 to be solid as a rock, but there’s the tiniest bit of looseness on the jog wheel that creates a little tap when touched that feels undesirable. Might not be an issue for everybody, but I feel the slightest pang of resentment every time I touch it. Admittedly that resentment might abate somewhat since it’s actually usable now… even if that’s minus many of the advertised functions.Or maybe that resentment (and the looseness?) is partly because I watched the Amazon delivery driver literally drop this package over the gate in the rain through the doorbell camera 🤙Nevertheless, this machine is definitely NOT cursed, and I have faith that my best mixes are on the horizon.M2 B or NOT M2 B?That is the question.Update: Likely a Sonoma issue moreso than an M2 issue. Appears that full Sonoma compatibility is in the works.

This Unit simply put is spectacular.......if you want that experience where you feel like you have taken a carpet off your monitors.....this will do it.....and yes even compared to Universal Audio interfaces.....There is no Higher Player in Digital Audio than Merging Technologies....this is their rebadged Neumann step child....with all the things you need for your home Studio....FACT...to quote a very famous producer who just heard a remix of my new single........"That Sounds Like a Record Now " !.....and its future proof !!!...
