The canteen is new, and doesn't have that weird plastic smell. If the cover is used, it has got to be the most gently used canteen cover I have ever seen. It looks brand new to me. The only issue I had, is that it leaked right out of the box. So I took some sandpaper, and smoothed out the excess plastic around the spout. The top surface has to be perfectly smooth, to avoid leaks. After that, not 1 drop has leaked from it. Overall I am very happy with this canteen.

Although it's stated that the cover is used, it looks absolutely brand new. The canteen itself is very sturdy for being plastic. The cover makes it very easy to carry with the strap or attach to a web belt. Very handy to have at least one (probably more) for the coming Troubles.

I carry mine prospecting. It's built well and doesn't leave that nasty rubber taste like a backpack bladder does. Well worn the money. Very portable and durable.

Cap on canteen did not come with an o-ring. Installed o-ring and it works well. Canteen pouch is high quality and seems very durable

Bought one for Search and Rescue as a way to carry water. I loved it so much I bought a second one. The canteens appear to be new and the carriers are in great shape. They are comfortable to carry on a sling and are great for long walks or day hikes. Water taste isn’t effected by the canteens and they don’t leak. Great piece of kit to carry a lot of water pretty easy!

Cover was discolored due to rust on D rings and other oil like product on cover face. Washed it after cleaning rust, painted the D rings. Strap had considerable corrosion on brass clips, cleaned and painted turned out good. Over all I would say it is in mid life of sevice use. No tears in material on mine. Good enough but still has the oil stain but minor. Seen better around same cost but getting hard to find in OD.

It came right on time, the "used" pouch is in almost new shape, very gently used and hard to tell it's seen much action at all, the strap is in great shape too. The canteen comes brand new, it has a peppermint smell inside of it, i washed it out real good and filled it up, it works fine, no leaks. It's a bit collapsible but not to the point where i'd trust folding it up. It holds 2 Quarts of water and the pouch has a small slot for storing purifier tablets or drink mixes. The bladder hasn't leaked yet and the inside of the pouch is lined with fleece for insulation, mine even had instructions printed inside. Overall i haven't had it long but it definitely seems like a tough item that can withstand some abuse, to my knowledge it is BPA Free. It comes with a regular M1 canteen cap but you can buy a cap with a gas mask adapter as well if you desire for both the 1 and 2 quart canteens. Works great for an outdoor event such as hiking or camping, or even during an emergency like a hurricane. Keep in mind that when it is full it does have a little weight to it
