Amazon shipped the wrong battery. It had a different connector. NewPower support responded quickly via email and shipped the correct battery promptly. My GPS is working fine thanks to their help.Replacing the battery in my Nuvi was easy (it just requires some effort to get the case open and a delicate touch) The kit included the needed tools...a very quick process once you get access to the insides.

I previously had the battery die in my Garmin GPS all of a sudden. Since a replaced the NewPower99 battery 3-5 years ago, I figured it had to be the battery and took a chance and bought a new one.The install went fairly quickly. However, the GPS would not turn on. The directions say to charge the GPS for 2 hours before using.I hooked the dongle to a USB A port in my computer and was able to upload the map updates soI knew the battery just needed charging.I charged the battery for about 1 hours and the GPS worked fine.It seems when these batteries go bad, there is no warning either with the original Garmon battery or with the NewPower99 battery.

Good instructions. Removed old battery (wasn't holding a charge). Put new/replacement battery in. Would not power up. Used USB and AC adapter. Battery icon shows ?. Requested replacement battery. Same result with replacement battery. These do not work in Garmin nuvi 2595 LMT GPS. Put original battery back in and it works fine, albeit it doesn't last very long. Disappointed.

Battery worked great, once I got it to work, but took a little stress and effort! FIRST, the unit in the online instructional video for this model is NOT a 2595LM, but appears to be a 2455LM. That being said, my 2595LM has an additional small cable connection (not battery cable) that comes undone when the cover gets lifted to approximately 45 degrees. User must remember to reconnect this after installing battery and preparing to close. SECOND, it would have been helpful if NewPower99 even briefly described how the connectors work. DO NOT pull horizontally - this can/will break the connector and cause you much grief. The connectors pull up to remove, push down to connect. (additional hint: I see a lot of reviews indicating battery is dead after install - mine seemed to be as well. I reopened the unit and pressed lightly on the battery connector until it clicked. That resolved the issue.) THIRD, aggressive use of the provided tool can mar the case. Work around the device gently if you are concerned about this. It does not affect the performance, however. ** I think the fact that NewPower99 even provides the opener tool (which is also used to remove battery), as well as the screwdriver is a big plus! Trying to open this with a flat screwdriver would have been ugly. FOURTH and FINAL, they were not kidding about the hairdryer suggestion in the video. The original battery was REALLY attached. I did not use the hairdryer as ... well ... I have no hair! lol) so it was not an easy task like the video seemed to show. Pulling battery out will take some work, but doable

Overall a very good product. The slim tool is great. The screwdriver should have been a 5 not a 4 but the battery was a great fit. Watch the youtube video.

My trusted Nuvi 2595 would no longer boot. After some searching I took an educated guess that the original battery had died. I figured for less than $30 it was worth a shot. The kit arrived 3 days earlier than expected and it contained the necessary screwdriver, chassis tool, and even an instructional DVD (old school). It was a straightforward process to open the unit. The one difficulty was removing the original battery as the adhesive was quite stubborn. But I was able to loosen it using a hairdryer to soften the adhesive as recommended in the supplied DVD. Piece of cake. The unit powered right up, took a charge, and now lasts significantly longer than when new. An easy recommendation.

Battery arrived on time. Item included instructions, battery and pry tool to open GARMIN GPS case. Replacement was simple and straight forward. Best item was the included tool to pry the case apart without doing damage and creating dents on the case. The battery connector is extremely small, be careful when installing the new battery or removing the old one. Double sided tape that held the old battery to the case was somewhat hard to remove. You can use the old tape if needed if you are careful. Overall new battery installation was quick (about 5 minutes). Give it a good charge before using.
