This replaced the original battery that was 13 years old. Fairly easy to install, but it does take longer than a 6 minute video. I would recommend this to anyone.

I purchased this because the SatNav would not turn on. I guessed it was the battery at fault and decided to try and replace it. This product was just what I was looking for. The process on video was very easy to follow. The only issue I had was trying to open the case after I had removed the screws but I managed it with a bit of persistance. All in all a great product. Far better than shelling out for a new SatNav.

Not sure about this product. I was willing to pay more for the kit, thinking that it includes the tool. However, the tool in the Kit did not work. I got a guy from the Radio Shack to get the GPS opened. I thought about returning the battery replacement kit; however, the tool was made of soft metal, it was slightly deformed when I used it. Buyer be aware. It looks like the battery works. Time will tell.

My GPS started doing this awesome thing where it would say it was charging and then turn off because it was out of battery. So, after a quick google search, this product was brought to my attention. The DVD that's included couldn't make it easier to do with the tools provided and after about 10 minutes, my GPS was working great again. The best part is that I've gotten additional use out of the provided tools especially the jeweler's-size screwdriver which, as it turns out, is perfect to adjust the small screws on my sunglasses.

I opted to view the video on the internet to show how the install was done but a CDaccompanied the battery and tools on how to do remove the old battery and installthe new.The battery in my old unit was stuck on pretty good so it took something a bit strongerthan the plastic wedge that came included in the kit. Other than that, it went as theydemonstrated in the video. Easy to do and so much cheaper than replacing theentire unit. I have lifetime map updates so felt a need to do this rather than upgrade.My units old enough I paid extra for the upgrades so figured this was the best wayto go.Lighting fast shipping and simply the way to go! The tools included worked well andno problems encountered. Battery came fully charged and after a quick refresh, I'mready to go. Total time from start to finish, less than 15 minutes.

I bought this to replace a 4 year old battery that would not hold a charge. This one does not hold a charge very well either. However the kit did make the replacement much easier.

C'est parfait.La seule imprécision que j'ai pu noter, c'est qu'il n'est pas précisé qu'au démontage, c'est à dire quand on sépare les 2 coques, le coté où se trouve la connectique en forme de limande.Si on ne fait pas attention, on peut arracher les conducteurs.Faire attention à l'ouverture.Personnellement, après avoir remplacer la batterie, mon GPS, ne fonctionnait plus.- Penser dans ce cas, à faire une RAZ = Remise à Zéro pour reprendre les fonctions d'origine.

MY GARMIN 255W WAS WORKING BUT THE BATTERY WAS FAILING AFTER AN HOUR OR TWO,SO AFTER READING ALL THE REVIEWS I DECIDED THAT THIS WAS THE COMPANY I SHOULD ORDER FROM. AFTER REVIEWING THE DVD I REPLACED THE BATTERY AS INSTRUCTED,WELL THE BATTERY IS WORKING FINE BUT THE GARMIN NO LONGER DISPLAYS ON THE SCREEN. THE VENDOR DID NOT LIKE MY REVIEW AND STATED THAT ONE OF THE CABLES MUST BE DISCONNECTED. I FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS AND THE SCREEN IS STILL BLANK. IT IS LITE AND THE GPS WORKS BUT THE SCREEN IS STILL BLANK. THERE IS NO DISPLAY ON THE SCREEN EVEN THO IT STILL TALKS TO YOU BUT WITH A BLANK SCREEN IT IS AN EXPENSIVE PAPER WEIGHT I CAN NOT SAY THE BATTERY OR THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE AT FAULT. HOWEVER MY ADVISE REMAINS THE SAME, SEND YOUR UNIT BACK TO THE FACTORY, IT MAY COST MORE BUT YOU WILL HAVE A WORKING GPS. i WOULD GIVE THIS BATTERY KIT 5 STARS IF THE GPS WORKED BUT IT IS HARD TO GIVE THEM AN EXCELLENT STAR COUNT WHEN THE REASON FOR BUYING THEIR PRODUCT WAS NOT ACCOMPLISHED. I HAVE FIXED COMPUTERS IN THE PAST AND THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN EASY AS EATING PIE BUT....Sent unit to factory it has been working fine for last four years
