My wife likes these for her needlework embroidery; the larger hoops are easier to hold and don't stretch the fabric.

Love Love Love nurge hoops. I can’t say enough how great this hoop is. I rarely ever have to adjust due to fabric getting loose. The hoop itself is sturdy thus making stitching easy. I use this hoop with and without a lowery work stand and it works well both ways. This is also my favorite size.

The title says hoops. Throughout the description, it speaks of hoops. I only received one. This is deceptive.

Since I have found the nurge hoops, I have stopped using the bamboo or wooden round ones completely. Since these are square, I find them so much easier to hold then the round ones. I don't use a stand. They also fit really well in my project bags. They are super easy to wind the screw to tighten, and I find that they are also really easy to keep the fabric taught and they hold the fabric at the right tension for my cross stitch projects. I started out by getting the whole set, as they come in like 4 different sizes, but overall I have found that this is my favorite size. Easy to hold and no problem when you take the hoop on and off to move it, or to put the project away. I also find that they do not ever rip the fabric (as I've heard some people report the Qsnaps did) nor have they ever left a stain on my fabric (like I've seen folks report that the wooden round hoops have done. ) I'm putting more of these on my wish list for sure.

I love, love, love the tension! You could not ask for better tension with these hoops. I only wish there were more sizes. The little is perfect for ornaments and the largest one is great for regular projects. I will never use any other brand!

These hold fabric like nothing else. Great range of sizes. Keep great tension, even the larger frames. Work great with my thinner linens that tend to slip in my hoops or Q-snaps. They will leave creases that are harder to get out, so make sure you've got a decent margin around your work.

I love the nurge. These are my favorite hoops to use. Holds the tension tight like a drum. Easy to get the fabric tight. They are lightweight if you hold in hand or lock tight in a stand no rolling around like the Q- snap.

There was a good size range and they hold the fabric taut. But they are so thick that you need to have quite a bit of excess fabric around design otherwise can't work close to the edge. And after a while, they feel quite weighty. Would like to see same quality of grip in a thinner, lighter hoop.
