This splinter remover is not helpful. A simple pin would work better. I once had one with an extremely sharp point and had hoped this would be a good replacement.

This is a very low-cost item, and the quality is what one would expect: Serviceable but no better. The metal and plating are fairly solid, but the threads which attach and secure the working tips are not at all precise - the points tend to wobble and rattle unless torqued very tightly in the last millimeter or two of the threading. The tweezers have no removable parts, and are more satisfactory.
