These cake boards are described as 10” diameter x 0.1” thick. The actual measurements are pretty close but a bit smaller - 9-15/16” diameter x 0.09” thick. The coating on the white side is as described. The package arrived in good condition- all boards were flat and ready to go. They are adequate for our intended use.

I have a small house with no storage space and having a traditional cake dish is really not an option. However every once in a while we have someone over that I like to cook a full meal for, including dessert. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this package and took one cake board out. One side is cardboard and the other had a white shiny laminate side to help prevent sticking and staining as badly as just cardboard. If handled with care and caution I believe these boards could handle a lot. By this I mean that since it does not have a stand that is permanently attached, one would have to slide a supporting hand underneath for transportation from counter to table for example. I sometimes make a double layered carrot cake which is quite heavy, but I think in supporting the board from underneath it could handle this perfectly fine.I did use it for something less heavy that I had on hand to see how it would holdup to utensils and messes. It does dent fairly easily and would cut through the laminate coating with a knife if not watching your pressure. To see how it could clean up I took a wet paper towel to it and it cleaned up very well & I ended up using it to place under a flimsy paper plate for stabilization & catching any seep-throughs. worked great. So I ended up getting a couple different uses out of it and would recommend these to have on hand!

I've ordered other cake base boards before, the ones that are gold and scalloped around the edges. Those arrive flat and stay flat when you use them. These ones are curled up from both sides, and as such never really lay flat till you put weight on them, and even then with lighter cakes they won't fit flat as they should. My speculation is that this is because the plastic (or whatever kind of film material they use) for the side that comes in contact with the cake, shrinks a bit after application to the paper and causes the disc to curl up.If all you make are heavy, dense cakes, these might work for you... but for lighter cakes, they're not going to work well and will just look bad.No, I do not recommend them.

I am no master baker, but I do like to make cakes for various church functions and such. And the last time I did this, I didn't want to leave the base of my cake carrier behind, so I literally had to cut a piece of cardboard to put the cake on -- not very good looking! So, leave it to Amazon to have an easy solution to a specific problem! And, voila! No more DIY cake boards!

I'm just a hobby baker and needed some cake boards to use for family birthday cakes and random desserts. These have worked great so far. They're sturdy and hold up well for multi layer cakes. I haven't had them collapse on me at all, but if it's a particularly heavy cake, you could tape two of them together. I also love that there is a shiny laminate side that keeps things from sticking too much. It makes it easy to wipe off frosting that may have gotten too close to the edge. As with a lot of cake boards, the measurements aren't perfect, so I wouldn't use these rounds for anything bigger than a 9-inch cake. Overall, I think these are a great deal for the price.

these cake boards are very thin and not perfectly flat. I suggest using two or three at a time and wrapping them in foil board wrap.

I’ve used these consistently for my cakes and the are sturdy and hold up well. They are just basic but the price point fits what I need.

I wanted this to take a few cakes out without needing to get a returned platter... These are perfect for that.Just a little bit under 10" diameter, but will work fine with even 8" or 9" cakes. Easy cleanup at the end, just dispose of the cardboard base, nothing to wash. The cardboard has a greaseproof finish, so you may even be able to use one more than once, but depending on the recipe and how long it's on the base, that may or may not be realistic, I don't know for sure. Feeling the cardboard with my fingertips, it feels like it's possible, but not a sure thing.

These 10" round, disposable cake base boards are just what I was looking for!I'm a home baker who is just starting to make layer cakes. These boards provide a solid base for stacking layers on and ultimately moving to a cake platter. Their white shiny side is wipeable to clean up any icing spills and it overall gives a professional "from the bakery" appearance to the finished cake.Although listed as 10", I would use them only for 9" cakes or less. With 15 in the package, they're also a good value. Recommended!
