Fork and spoon inserts compatible with all wooden handled No.08 folding knives equipped with the Virobloc safety ring, circa 2000. Picnic+ inserts are intended to be used on Opinel No.08 wood handle knives. Picnic+ inserts are not compatible with No.08 Slim knives, No.08 Gardening knife and No.08 Mushroom knife.

Yes I do genuinely carry these every day alongside my No.8 they are genuinely handy to have if you live on the go like I do. They're also great for camping.

Diese sehr schöne und zugleich nützliche Erweiterung zu meinem Opinel #8 habe ich durch Zufall entdeckt und wollte sie gleich in einem Messer-Fachgeschäft kaufen. Da es laut einem Opinel-Fachhändler aber im stationären Handel nur schwer zu bekommen ist, habe ich es von unterwegs aus bestellt und die Lieferung war sehr schnell.Die Einzelteile Löffel und Gabel passen perfekt in die Halterung des Messers und das ganze liegt gut in der Hand.Das hübsche Microfaser-Tuch dient zugleich als Verpackung.Insgesamt wirkt das set wertig und ist sein Geld wert.

i HAVE NOT USED THE SET YET.But I'm looking forward to a week's worth of testing later this month. The components fit together well, with little to no wobble when the blade lock is engaged. The one thing I see as a con is that the wood of the handle can get wet, causing swelling. So I will do my best to keep this dry.

the lock is really tight cant get the fork to lock but with a little work i think i can get it . it sturdy and a perfict edc for my lunch will be carrying this in my backpack everyday. the spoon and fork size is perfict for everyday use

I must admit that I am a fan of Opinel products, and I have been for a long time. This people are serious about the products they design, and they make them with top-notch materials.In this instance, however, Opinel personnel failed at doing something critical with an otherwise well-made and well-thought-out set of Fork & Spoon: they failed to verify if both utensils can be locked in place by the user.Well... they cannot!The fork as well as the spoon fit very well AS LONG AS you did not allow food residues to accumulate in the area of the knife where the blade swings. Assuming the area is free of such residues, both utensils fit in place like a glove.The trouble begins immediately after when you want to turn the stainless steel ring which has a job: to solidly lock the utensils in place. You may turn the ring hard until you say words you mother told you to never say, but the ring will not respond to your efforts.With a magnifying glass, I discovered the reason: the part of the utensils' body that goes inside the knife is approximate 1/32" too wide, and that tiny excess of metal prevents the stainless steel ring from turning to solidly lock either utensil in place.Whoever has the proper tool can remove that small amount of metal in the blink of an eye. I do not have such tool, therefore, my 'Opinel Picnic+ Cutlery Set' resides without use inside a drawer.Maybe, one day, someone with the proper tool will put a smile on my face.

They make for a great set of utensils for my opinel no. 8 knife, and the handkerchief/napkin makes for a great holder. The fork and spoon slot in and lock down in the top of the knife and don't wiggle. They are easy to clean, and the spoon and fork slot together too for easy storage. The napkin has elastic where you can slide in the knife and the fork and spoon, and it all folds up nice and neat

A real nice eating-ware set. I like the size and balance and weight. What would be nice is a belt sheath instead of a roll-up "bag". Not PL or Pleather, but real leather that is sturdy and long-lasting. As it is this would be good for picnics and buffets, but not for sneaking into a restaurant that recycles dirty silverware.This item would more "giftable" if you could package it better.
