If your tonearm has a standard headshell or a cartridge mount, then step up to optimal sound reproduction with OMs. A glance at any one of these cartridges will reveal Ortofon's answer to perfect tonearm matching. Ingeniously tucked into the top of the mounting bracket is a tiny, removable weight plate. If your tonearm is a standard tonearm, just leave the weight-plate. If your tonearm is one of the low mass types, then simply remove the weight. The mass of your OM cartridge is now a mere 2.5g.

Lo primero comentar que viene en una caja bastante mas grande que el producto en si, así que cuando se abre llama la atención lo pequeña que es. Viene con sus tornillos y sin el destornillador. A la hora de montarla, cuidado, el tema no es nada fácil ya que en mi caso no tiene el tocadiscos un cabezal extraíble. El peso de la capsula que tenia antes es bastante mayor así que estoy en el limite, una unitra, prácticamente me faltaba un gramo pero así todo la coloque dándole la vuelta al contrapeso del brazo. La diferencia que se escucha es bastante en el sentido que hay menos distorsión, el sonido es mas brillante y limpio, pero hay que tener en cuanta que la aguja de la unitra estaba bastante gastada, una cónica, y yo opte teniendo en cuenta el precio en sustituir todo el conjunto ante la ventaja de poder poner después una aguja incluso mejor que una simple elíptica, es la que lleva, optando cuando se gaste ésta por una nude. Por lo tanto, esta claro que el precio es muy bueno y merece la pena el cambio. Por cierto, la estética de esta capsula ortofon a mi gusto es muy buena.

I've owned my Pioneer PL-600 since new and recently refurbished it after 20 years of neglect. It's a black belt-drive model and I had a handful of wear items to address. Got all the functional items addressed and have been using it for the past 3 months with the factory original cartridge.Did some reading and found that, despite not being the silver direct-drive player from the 70s, I had a very serviceable player that was easily upgraded. Saw this cartridge mentioned in many places as the recommended next step so I took a chance.Installation was a piece of cake and the sound quality is lovely. You really can't go wrong with this cartridge, especially for the price. I'm happy with the purchase and am enjoying my vinyl collection with fresh fullness to the sound.

Outre ses qualités audio, c’est une cellule facile à mettre en oeuvre, très ”tolérante” avec l’état des disques même moyen. Je l’utilise pour des vieux 78 tours et le son, le tracking et la musicalité sont bons. Surprenant pour un petit prix. Bien sûr, il y a mieux pour des tarifs bien plus élevés mais franchement, bravo Ortofon !

Installed it on my Denon Dp-15f because it calls for a cartridge between 3 and 6 grams, and the ortofon red was 7 grams. Noticable improvement over the one that came with it.I'm new to the whole LP thing, but this needle makes me understand the appeal. If you can get over the occasional crackle here and there, it's actually a much richer sound than you can get from a digital source.

Amazing cartridge for a 40 year old turntable. It has been stored for 22 years and my bride unboxed it. It needed a new cartridge and after hitting the company website, was recommended as a direct replacement for my sansui turntable. It was installed, balanced and ready to go within an hour. We spun “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and the quality nearly brought me to tears. A 40 year old turntable sounded amazing with the new cartridge. Good quality, excellent product. Thanks so much!

La testina mi è arrivata il primo giorno di consegna previsto. Ordinai la stessa testina ad un venditore tedesco ma non arrivò mai. Il prodotto è arrivato all'interno di una piccola ma robusta scotolina di plastica trasparente e non , stranamente, nella sua confezione originale Ortofon. Sul fondo vi è una piccola etichetta adesiva con la descizione del prodotto, All'interno vi erano: due vitine con testa a cacciavite ad intaglio trasversale, due dadi, due rondelline in plastica. Separata da un foglio in foam, la testina, con lo stilo già montato e la cover protettiva correttamente inserita. Non sono fornite istruzioni di montaggio e specifiche tecniche.Prima di una qualsiasi valutazione bisona considerare prezzo di acquisto, davvero popolare, e il blasone del marchio. Ho scaricato dal sito Ortofon le specifiche tecniche e di montaggio, montata su un giradischi Micro Seiki a trazione diretta vintage di buona qualità del 1980 collegato ad un impianto anch'esso vintage ma molto ben suonante, rispettando i valori di peso applicato (controllato con bilancina specifica digitale) e hoverang (peraltro davvero difficile da settare per via della forma stessa dello shell) anch'esso controllato con dima specifica, applicata la giusta forza di antiskating controllata poi con disco a specchio. La prima prova che ho effettuato è stata con un disco specifico per i test impianti della RCA italiana, degi anni '70, in ottime condizioni sviluppato dall'ing. Gaetano Mariani e dal tecnico Renato pesce. Nel controllo della risposta in frequenza la testina si è comportata molto bene. Le tracce sono frequenze pure, incise contemporaneamente ed in fase sui due canali secondo curva RIIA. Controllando la visualizzazione sul display di un analizzatore di spettro il segnale, e la sua visualizzazione corrisponde. Volendo essere pignoli in due frequenze il picco è un poco più esteso sulle frequenze vicino ma vale sempre la considerazione citataall'inizio. Anche il bilanciamento della testina ad 1 Khz è risultata corretta, ricordiamoci il blasone; è una Ortofon.E all'ascolto? Ho messo sul piatto un disco da audiofili: Joe Jackson, Body and Soul del 1984, A&M Records n° di catalogo AMLX65000, registrato e masterizzato digitalmente.La farò molto breve perchè qui si entra in un discorso davvero infinito, la testina ha un rapporto qualità/prezzo straordinario. Ascoltato il disco in cuffia sono rimasto estremamente soddisfatto perchè dopo diversi minuti di ascolto, e di adattamento acustico necessario ad essa,, ho ottenuto il risutato sperato, l'impianto è scomparso ed è rimasta solo la musica cristallina e naturale, addirittura la sensazione dei bassi al basso ventre. Per quello che si paga è una testina strepitosa.
