I have run into a number of cheap imported carbide inserts recently. Unlike the cheap ones, these are good quality and they hold up well.

I bought these as a test-fit set for my insert holders as they weren't marked and I wanted to buy a cheap set to verify that they were indeed TCMT. The fit was perfect but I primarily work with steel and sometimes hardened steel. These did the job on soft steel but failed on cutting my hardened steel.After buying this set to verify fit, I bought a set of Kennametal TCMT KCU25 inserts with a 0.0312" radius and they cut my hardened steel with ease.

Better than the cheap freebie inserts that came with my cheap import lathe tools. They are way better than the cheap junk out there. Not as good as sandvik, but they don't cost 15 dollars a piece either. These are what I consider a good middle ground. Good enough to use and get good results but not too pricey. If your trying to save some cash get these, I won't hesitate to buy oscarbide inserts in the future but I won't buy any of the cheap 6.99 for 10 no name junk that is useless. These are pretty decent, especially for the price, better than what comes with cheap import tooling.

After burning through 3 sides on two inserts with a different brand while cutting material that I *thought* wouldn't be an issue, I needed to order replacement inserts. The inserts I received from OSCARBIDE are the thickness, radius, and relief angle that I needed. The quality appears to be good and they include a nice little plastic case to protect the carbide inserts until you need to use them. Fast and easy swap-out and off to turn some metal.
