Had to use my old springs to make it work otherwise the clutch wouldn't disengage.

Dropped it in a '98 klr650 (685 now). Unlike all the other kits I kept coming accross, it had the correct number of 8 plates. Comes with springs and rings at a right price? Nice. Rolled the dice. So far so good. Way better, smoother clutch feel than I've experienced in the 20k miles I've owned the bike. And no more slipping. So far only about 1k miles on it, so not time tested.

Put it in my '98 KLR 650 and the clutch works great, easy pull, smooth, although, just to note, I only used the steels and plates. I used OEM springs.

I opened the package and the first thing I noticed was that the new springs are about 5/16ths smaller than my 2011 KLR 650 original springs. I called Outlaw to confirm that this kit belongs to my KLR, and they confirmed with a yes. Next I noticed that the kit includes one extra friction pad and plate. Installing the whole kit w/ the extra friction pad and plate made the clutch system too tight to where it did not work. I removed the extra friction plate and pad and this made the clutch system too weak to the point where the clutch slipped and not work at all. After four tear-downs, loss of (8) quarts of oil, a gallon of antifreeze, and many hours lost, I have come to the conclusion that this clutch system does NOT work on a 2011 KLR 650. I will be asking for a refund. Buyer beware.
