My husband is a professional handyman and bought these for a pergola build. He said they were great and easy to use! They look sleek but are strong, giving them amazing value for the price.

I looked at Simpson Strong Ties from a big box store 45 minutes away, and these. These were 4 or 5 dollars cheaper apiece so with 6 I saved around $20 and had them delivered to my door. These things are simple but affective. I mounted into wood up top and concrete on the bottom. Using 3/8 lag bolts and 3/8 concrete anchors. Mounted only with the center mount they are plenty stable and will not spin unless you tap them with a hammer. It is easier to bolt the side ears on loosely before you crank them down ( Don't ask me how I know lol) I particularly like the hex bolt looking finishers that give this a sturdy rustic look. Highly recommend them.

These brackets are great looking. Couldn't find any 8x8 local. Ozco brand are really good quality and are easy to install.

We replaced porch posts with new cypress 6x6 and these brackets worked great. Easy to use and they look nice. The only thing I would have liked is suggestions on how to anchor them (directions say something like “anchor as you like”). I did some online research and went with a RedHead 1/2” wedge anchor that was 3-3/4” long and that worked well, allowing room for the 1” height of the bottom plate and enough thread for the washer and nut while still going deep enough for the anchor to work. Alternatively you could use Tapcon screws in the four holes around the sides. But again, I would value the manufacturer’s input on proper anchoring techniques.

A friend recommended this system because of the look - something substantial that didn't look industrial. I looked at it and the cost, but in this case you are definitely getting what you pay for. That includes free plans with a materials list. Using the plans and the system, I build a 12' x 14' pergola by myself in about 12 hours. I haven't totaled everything up, but final cost was about $800 including the wood. It looks great and neighbors up and down my street are asking if I can build one for them.A couple of quick points: Everything I ordered arrived within 24-48 hours, all in good shape with nothing broken or missing. The post bases do not come with any screws to attach to your deck or whatever foundation you are using, so you will need to purchase those. I also saw a review where someone complained the screws were easy to strip. That isn't actually accurate. The screws are are tapered to give them an old-world look, which means you need to seat your wrench or socket solidly on the base of the screw head to get proper torque. I had to buy a new socket because the one I had was worn, and just wasn't working as it should. The new socket worked great but I did have trouble in areas where it was hard to position myself to get the right position. My recommendation is take your time and don't rush it and you will be fine.I don't write a lot of reviews, but I can highly recommend the OZCO system. It looks good, is easy to use, and while it isn't cheap, it is definitely worth it in my opinion.
