I've had a couple of transformers blow out in my ac over the years. Easy to replace, but this is the first with a fuse that should blow first. Why didn't they do that before? Comes with extra parts you may or may not use.

Purchased because I liked the idea of having a fuse. Unfortunately the internal connections to the screw terminals either short together or open when any pressure is applied to the screws. Hanging a wire from the screw was enough to cause the output to go to 0. Also, had to trim the mount flange tabs to get it to mount in 1/2" knockout on side of deep square box.

My transformer blew on my hvac and used this as a replacement. So far, so good. Time will tell if it lasts!

Installation is possible with the plate supplied. After removing the knock out, I realized the cutout is toosmall to install as shown. Only way to install is to mount on a new plate with the feet, drilling holes and screwing for an external mount.

Transformer was used to replace the "fried" 24vac control transformer in my home HVAC unit. The control cable to the compressor/heat exchanger had deteriorated and shorted, destroying both the old transformer and the A/C contacts in the thermostat. This new Packard 24vac control transformer has a higher output current rating than my original plus the secondary is fused with a replaceable 3A Slo-Blo fuse - both of these are good things! Hopefully, this will prevent the same "chain" failure from ever happening again.Be advised that this is a "chunky" transformer and I just barely got it to fit in the electrical enclosure.

This transformer did the trick to get my ac running again. Haven't had any problems since installing it.
