They offer a delightful way for children to master new subjects and for adults to brush up on old ones

I love these for my kids, they learn as they eat. But over time the corners do split, which is why I am only giving them 4 stars. They are simple, laminated maps. I am on my second purchase, and would probably buy them a third time if these wear out.

9 year old likes to play a game where we try to figure out which state or country a city is in. He's definitely being exposed to geography in a playful way. They are also good as placemats. Not super thick, but definitely sturdy enough to use and clean daily. We've been using them for months without issues.

I'm not using these as placemats, so I can't speak to their durability as such, but they are awesome for display. I use these on a bulletin board in a classroom setting and, for that, they are perfect! Bright colors engage the kids and we can write on them with dry erase and wet erase pens. We also stick stickers on them. I haven't had any problems when cleaning the dry and wet erase marker off, but that's not really the same as a preschooler dumping a whole cup of milk on it.Occasional, moderate contact with liquid seems okay. Drowning the United States in tonight's dinner beverage, not so much.

My kids are 5 and 3, and my even three-year-old can already point out Russia, Australia, Canada, etc., and distinguish between “Norf and Souf”, simply because of eating over these placemats for a couple months and discussing them casually as we eat. I’m so excited to be making geography a fun part of normal life. When interesting world events occur, like hurricane flooding in Houston, TX, for example, we can point out the locations on these handy little maps. We can discuss exports, culture, foods, etc. This is a great resource.
