what is Intake & Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Kit?
The intake camshaft actuator has a gray electrical plug and is located on the top of the cylinder head near the front of the vehicle; the exhaust camshaft actuator has a black electrical plug located on the top of the cylinder head near the rear of the vehicle position. They are used to precisely control the flow of oil into the camshaft actuator. This will change the rotation of the camshaft to adjust the valve timing and valve overlap. These solenoids are used to control the exhaust camshaft and the intake camshaft, thereby making it possible to reduce emissions and basically decommission the exhaust gas recirculation valve, and improve performance and fuel economy. If the engine check light is on, your camshaft actuator may be malfunctioning. This may cause indecision, decreased fuel economy and poor driving performance. You need to replace the camshaft actuator as soon as possible.
How to replace a Intake & Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Kit?
Step 1: Disconnect the NEGATIVE post on the car's battery firstly. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Step 2: Disconnect the intake camshaft position actuator solenoid valve wiring harness plug.
Step 3: Disconnect the exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid valve wiring harness plug.
Step 4: Unclip ECM wiring harness from camshaft cover.
Step 5: Remove the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve bolts.
Step 6: Carefully rotate the intake camshaft position actuator solenoid valve counter clockwise.
Step 7: Carefully rotate the exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid valve clockwise.
Step 8: Carefully remove the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves and the seal rings.
Step 9: Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves in reverse order.
*Note: The camshaft position actuator solenoid valves must be kept parallel to the engine front cover during removal and installation. The camshaft position actuator solenoid valves can be damaged if they become wedged or stuck during this process.

Wanted to try these, the price was right and had good reviews and fixed the error code, but didn't last very long, I bought for 2 vehicles and 2012 equinox and a captiva after about 4 months the vehicles started to run really rough but there were no code so it made it difficult to find the problem. I finally replaced both with ac delco and the rough idle went away. I would not recommend.

Put these in to my son’s 2012 Chevy Captiva which was running rough. The check engine light indicated it was the intake sensor. These were cheap enough I replaced them both.Hopefully they last.One note. Don’t try to test the car with the Airbox still off. The car won’t run very well.
