Our vision was sparked by our own difficulty in finding veils that weren't "frumpy".

This head cover is ideal for summer, weekday Masses/ Ordinary Time, pilgrimages, most especially attendance to Papal visits where huge crowds come for outdoor Masses, Adorations and Vigils (a long veil would get torn, blown off, cumbersome or just uncomfortable). It came with a small plastic resealable bag which fits my purse so I can bring this to work and wear it even if I'm in business attire. It's not too small just to be a headband but it might be depending on your own head circumference or hair thickness.

A Symbol of Respect
Chapel veils represent a whole range of things: a way to emulate the veil-wearing Virgin Mary, an experience of "authentic femininity" that sets women apart as specially blessed bearers of life and a reminder that she and all members of the church are to consider themselves brides in a symbolic marriage to Jesus, whom the Bible sometimes describes as a bridegroom.
A Symbol of Modesty
Throughout early Christian culture, the veil was again seen as a symbol of modesty.
Today the use of the veil is considered a visible act of modesty and humility. A veil is not worn out of guilt, or as an act of subservience, or out of shame for feminine beauty, but rather as a sign of reverence and surrender to God’s will.
The Significance of the Veil
So covering the head stemmed from cultural custom as well as early Christian tradition. It was carried over as Catholic tradition for the same reasons. However, the significance of the veil has since changed from the cultural tradition from whence it began.
How should I clean my veil?
All lace veils may be hand-washed cold with mild soap and laid flat to dry. If stiffness is an issue after air-drying, wet the veil slightly and run it through your dryer's delicate cycle with a fabric softener sheet. Cool iron if needed.

This veil feels comfortable and is not too tight or too loose on my head. I use it for church as a veil. With a toddler a longer veil will be pulled off my head. I do wish it was maybe 1 or 2 inches longer in the back. Other than that great product.

This is a cute head cover. It’s light weight for summer time and comfortable. It comes with some pins to help keep it in. I haven’t used the pins because I lost them but I’m sure they’d help keep it in place. You don’t need the pins (depending on your hair style) but I don’t use them and this stays in fairly well. It starts to slip off after a few hours of wear. I’ve been careful not to snag it on sharp objects and like I’ve said I have not used pins on it so I do not know how well it does with pins (as in I do t know how durable it is or if pins will tear it) it seems pretty durable to me for a lace piece. It fits nicely and the color (navy) allows me to wear it with several outfits.

The headband is what I expected but it is also big. The elastic is almost unnecessary because, when the band is in place, it is loose. I use clips to keep it in place.

I purchased this because I hardly have hair on my head and even when I did, the hair was too slippery to keep regular veil on top of my head. Unfortunately the band is still too loose and if I tighten it I'm afraid that it would pop off like rubber band on a ball. It's not the veil, it's my hair/head. I need to look further.
