Get the most out of your Pangea heating bulb
Install in a Ceramic Socket
Use a high quality fixture with a ceramic socket to ensure that heat does not damage the fixture. Cheap plastic fixtures can melt from the heat.
USA Voltages Only
Pangea heat bulbs are designed specifically for USA outlets and voltage. Outlets and voltage from other regions can overload the bulb.
Add a Protective Screen
Protect you reptile from burns: place your light behind a screen to prevent climbing reptiles from touching the hot bulb.
Use With a Dimming Thermostat
A dimming thermostat allows the bulb to be turned on gently increasing its lifespan by removing the surge of power that happens with an on/off switch.

The lamp, when working, is great. The lifespan is tiny though. Mine only lasted a couple weeks.

Literally bought this July 12th havnt even run a month. Don’t run for more than 5-6 hours a day and already busted. Don’t recommend. Very disappointed.

The reptile store sold me day and night bulbs (which are horrible for reptiles because the color messes with their depth perception) and while I was using those bulbs he had so much trouble catching his food but when I started using this bulb my gecko was able to hunt way better. I’ve seen reviews saying how it didn’t last long for them and 4 weeks in and my bulb still works (it’s too soon to tell how long it’ll last). The bulb gets REALLY HOT so I recommend having a dimmable lamp (I personally use the fluker’s clamp lamp). The wattage(75) is a bit high for the current tank size I have (22 gallons) but if you have a 40 gallon tank definitely get 75 w but if not get the 50w. The light is a bit yellow if you’re wondering and it does go more of an orange tint if you lower the light/temp. The bulb is working wonderfully so far.update: so this morning before i left the house it was working great, 9 hours later i get home. sometime between when i was gone the light bulb went out. i still think its a great heating bulb but it would be better if it lasted longer than about 4 months. if this is the bulb you want to continue purchasing then have a second bulb or a temporary bulb on stand by.

Got the bulb on Jan 29th and it worked fine except for a noticeable smell when it was in use. I was using the correct 75 watt lamp for the bulb and a thermostat to control the heat output. Today just over two months later the bulb stopped working even when switching to a different, also working lamp. Buy from a different brand.

I’m unsure if it’s because I bought it off Amazon and not directly from their website, but I was severely disappointed with this product. The heating itself was alright, but the lifespan was very unsatisfactory. The product only lasted for around 3.5 weeks, and that’s with a dimming thermostat!!

I got this for my leopard gecko’s tank and the lamp gives off great heat and has lasted a long time
