  • Yes, it fits Toyota 4runner. Specific models can be viewed at five points.

  • With the engine off, pump the brake pedal until it feels firm and hold. Then, start the engine and the pedal will sink slightly if the booster is operating properly.

  • After replacing a brake booster, it may be necessary to adjust the brake light switch. Some vehicles contain a one-time use brake light switch. In these cases, the brake light switch will need to be replaced.

  • This is due to a failing master cylinder piston seal. This will result in brake fluid entering and contaminating the brake booster. The master cylinder and brake booster will need to be replaced.

  • A brake booster assists in pushing the master cylinder piston when the brakes are applied. This multiplies pedal force to decrease stopping distances.

Theres not a lot to really say, it fits good, works good, and has lasted so far. Only time will really tell if it's really good. But I can't complain so far and it was a fraction of the cost of oem (Toyota wants close to $1000 if I remember correctly)

Had to replace master and booster on my 3rd Gen and this worked out with my budget. Biggest issue was packing was lacking the stud had gone through the wall of the box several times but seemed to be unharmed and best of all works!

Local shop wanted $1500.00 to replace the brake booster. Start to finish DIY was one hour. Did not have to open the brake lines or bleed the brake lines so the ABS did not have to be reset. I am past 65 and I did it myself. Saved a TON of money. This new booster is the same or better than the original.

Fit my 99 4runner perfectly. Looked pretty much exactly the same as the one I took out and brought my brakes back to life. Will update this review if anything fails. The original lasted over 250k miles so fingers crossed on this one.
