Directions show to cut at end and measure in. However, it should be 5/8 or 11/16 from inside post. Otherwise great product and customer service is helpful in resolving any issues.

These things look nice and are very simple to install. However, they are unforgiving if you make a mistake. You can't just buy one or two replacements you have to buy 10 more at $38 a pop. I had at least 4 of these where the threads broke free when I was tightening othere ones. Also, if youre not crimping them perfectly and the cable breaks free, you have to start over with a new piece. AND dont forget to put your finishing rings on the inside of the post before crimping. I made this mistake at least twice.

I bought this kit from this particular brand because I thought they were the leaders in aftermarket cable railing supplies. But instead I got shipped a bag of garbage. 42 piece connectors 17 with effective. The defect is very specific. As with any job I stage all my parts ahead of time to make sure there's no surprises on the job site. So I unscrew the switch from the housing on each one and then screw them back in. They should screw open and close flawlessly especially that they are staying the steel. But this is not the case because they were machine like garbage, worthless overseas garbage. As soon as the threaded barrel came out of the connector head it would not screw back in. Again 17 out of 40 completely worthless and defective. Now three or four were bad it wouldn't set this job back, with this many defective in a set me back tremendously. Don't ever buy this garbage and go through what I'm going through find another supplier and another brand

This is a great product idea, but the details need improvement to function well, in my experience.We only had an 8ft run with five cables, where we could only tension from 1 side. but the crimps holding the threaded part to the wire are far too shallow for a blind hole to get sufficient clamping force. We tried various crimping methods and they all let go over time when kids leant on the wire.Also, the threaded section is far too short if you can only tension from one side like in our case.We cut the wire just long enough to engage the thread, but quickly ran out of thread to fully tension after the wire stretched a little. (It might be ok if you're tensioning from both ends, but we physocally couldn't in our case) An option for female threaded sections that are much longer would have been really helpful for us.I installed the tensioning end through a larger wooden stairway pillar - the tensioning tool was too short and didn't engage very well (especially when I tried to put a really thorough crimp on the end to prevent it from coming out!)I had to extend the tool and modify the end to get it to work. It's a shame these kinks weren't worked out, otherwise this would be a great product.It would be helpful if they advertised these improvements in future models, otherwise, I'd be hesitant to buy again.

This product is very expensive for hardware but it was really easy to use (so long as your cable is cut cleanly, if it frays at all you are going to spend a lot of time forcing it in). To avoid wasted product double check your crimps with a good tug, a triple crimped mine and they feel really solid. Replacing the railing on my 20x10 deck was time-consuming and expensive but it looks fantastic and the overall process was straightforward.

Would love to give the railing 5 stars, however! Purchased a complete system 2500.00 worth and because of my lack of experience! My first cable was to long and couldn’t us it. I purchase 60 cr6 connector and now I’m one short and have to purchase 40 more at 236.00 bucks. Try customer service and got no where!Just a head up!

I bought these for a railing along the top of a flight of stairs. These are exactly what I needed and wanted. Love the black finishing and they work as intended. I had contacted the company concerning a problem with my first order and the service was great. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for black cable tensioners.

These are great for getting a finished look for your wire railing project. They are very easy to install (with the necessary hydraulic crimping tool) and an allen wrench and tool to hold the screw-in portion of the terminal (so you don’t twist your wire rail) are included.

Worked great, not sure why they didn't just come with the tool for tightening. Make sure to get it because you won't be able to tighten without it.
