I ordered these to plug the drainage hole in small, 4” terracotta pots. These barely fit but were workable. When measuring in mm, there is very little room for error, and while these were almost too large, they did fit. They could also be shaved down a little for my purposes.I garden in the desert where managing even watering in my pots and raised garden beds can be difficult due to the heat and arid environment. In a gardening book of smart watering designs it was suggested to bury a small terracotta pot with plugged hole and fill with water. It will slowly release water through the porous, unglazed clay, helping to maintain an even amount of water to the roots of the plants as they need it. Cover the open pot with a clay drainage tray to prevent evaporation. So far I have been happy with the performance of these plugs.

I use this as a stopper for a DIY inflator bag that doubles as a dry bag. It fits in the inflator tube snugly, and stays put. The taper is just right, slow enough for the stopper to stay in place, while covering a large range of sizes. Recommended.
