Great concept but poor quality. They started to rust after two days. If your plan is to put up a small pergola and only expect it to last a couple of years these will be great. But if you want it to last, I would look elsewhere.

We wanted to put shade over our fire pit area so we can use the area during the daytime. This was the perfect affordable kit to build a simple pergola over our fire pit area.

Got this kit to build a puppy play area in our back yard. The kit was packaged well and came with everything we needed to get started. As other reviewers have noted, these are built to 4x4, but lumber is actually 3.5x3.5, so they're not a precise fit. I didn't find this to be a deal breaker, BUT.. I highly recommend going slow with the screws, as they need to be tightened equally so you don't have unequal gaps in the brackets. The screws that come with the kit are sturdy, but not self-tapping, so I recommend pilot holes to make things easier. No way I could have built this safely on my own, so definitely get help and a couple of ladders to make your day easier. My friend and I had this built in about an hour, and I'm happy with the results!

We bought these to build a pergola and they are great. They were easy to use and they are sturdy.

My partner hasn't built the pergola yet, but these are sturdy and welded. The 90s have a spot to hook a canopy over top if that's the kind of pergola you're making. They are also much cheaper than buying at the hardware store. They come wrapped and tetras packaged into a box. I think my partner was pleased.
