Purchased didn't work, sent back. Got back from pertronix still didn't work! Called them they said I'm doing something wrong. Burrowed a friends MSD 6AL PUT IT IN AND FIRED RIGHT UP. Sent pertronix a video of engine running. Never heard from them again! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!

Regardless what I do, it throws a low voltage code with 13.3 volts. Pertronix tech cut all communication when I told them the receipt was over 12 months old. The box has 4 passes on it and I offered to pat out of pocket to fix it, but the will nor respond.

Good product...it enhances the voltage to the distributor, from there to the Pertronix distributor, to the plugs....and at a good price and quick shipment. It showed up and was installed just as I needed it to

If you have an older car, make sure you have at least 10v when cranking. My car has a bad ground or connection somewhere and the Voltage drops to 5v when cranking. It was no problem for my old Distributor, but my new one and the Digital HP box are wont turn on. SO I'm screwed until i get that fixed. Its super frustrating. I wish i never bought this box.

I loved the box, until it left me on the side of the road for a few hours trying to figure out why my car wouldn’t run. Changed the coil, cap&rotor, nothing. Unplugged the box, fired right up. Called costumer service, put on hold for an hour, transferred twice, then no one answered. Left a voicemail, never heard back.

I bought this because my car has been a little hard to start. I replaced my 6AL box with this for the timing retard during starting and the extra rev limiting functions. All I did was take the old box out and put the new Pertronix box in. I was suprised at in how easy the car starts now and how smoothly it idles. I did not know it would make any change in idle quality but it is nice that it does. After I noticed the improvement I looked at other reviews and saw that other peiple experienced the same thing. Apparently the rapid multi-spark makes that much of a difference.

I bought this ignition box for an '82 Volvo with a carbureted engine that previously had a weak ignition system. I used this in conjunction with a Pertronix Igniter II to replace the points system, as well as a Flamethrower II low resistance coil.The Igniter II and Flamethrower coil immediately gave my engine more power and reliability, especially in the higher RPM range. I found that my idle was still rough and prone to stalling when pulling into gear or coming to a stop. As soon as I installed the Digital HP ignition box my idle became smooth and steady. I could not get the engine to stall at all as hard as I tried. The multi-spark capabilities of this box are really what shines when it comes to smoothing out idle on a carbureted engine.I turned the multi-spark setting off and found that my idle was better than with just the igniter II, but not as good as with multi-spark on. So multi spark is working and doing its job. For that reason alone this box is worth it for me. With multi spark off I feel that I had a slight power gain in the upper RPM range, but not big enough of a difference for a daily driver, on the dragstrip - for sure.I like that there are so many programmable settings that can all be easily dialed in with the switches on the unit and that it can be programmed on the bench with a 9V battery or in the car. I tested the different power settings and found that the 187MJ setting gave a bit more power overall but my coil started to get pretty hot, which could be a problem for highway driving. My coil is about two times the resistance than the coil Pertronix suggests, so this makes sense. I read somewhere that the 187MJ setting should only be used for short drag strip runs so I will be keeping mine set at the lower setting most of the time.I won't be using the full capabilities of this box but there are so many settings and systems that it can control. I like the fatal rev limit feature, especially for a manual transmission car, I haven't set up the tachometer wire but I'm looking forward to setting that up and calibrating it. Nice feature that the tachometer displays the fatal rev limit on startup. The start retard timing feature is great and the car starts right up perfectly cold or hot. I used to have a running on problem with the points system but now the car shuts down nicely.I know that my ignition is strong now that I have this system in place. Previously with points, my plugs were carbon fouled from fuel not being burned completely. Now when I pull the plugs they are nice and clean and slightly browned off. You can tell they are getting hot and burning the mixture properly. I have opened up my spark plug gap slightly and this seems to give me a bit more power.I love that this box is small and discreet, it can fit pretty much anywhere, it's much smaller than the MSD boxes. It has a very heavy duty automotive connector, and was easy to install. Overall a very powerful ignition box that, in conjunction with an electronic ignition and a low resistance coil, did wonders for my carbureted engine.

I replaced the stock ignition on my Chevy 4.3l V6 with this box. This was an easy upgrade because the engine has a distributor. Set to its highest spark energy I'm getting better mileage and more power through the Entire rpm range! My first Pertronics product has left me impressed!
