About this item

  • The two blades are easily interchangeable and replaceable with the handle. The 3" large blade for general area and the 1.8" small blade for detail or joints area of your dog, cat, or other pets.
  • The shedding blades easily remove loose and dead fur as well as undercoats. This shedding brush also significantly reduces shedding, mats and tangles.
  • The deshedding tool comes with protective cap for the blades, making it safe to store. The small blade is a much safer grooming rake for puppy, kitten, and small breed pets than the regular size blade on the market.
  • Less shedding means cleaner and healthier home for other members of the family; less skin problem for your pets; also reduce hairball issues for cats.
  • Our stainless steel blades are strong and sharp to last for years. These deshedder's rake and blade are quality controlled during the process of manufacturing; parts will not loose or fall apart.

This grooming tool is designed to effectively reduce shedding, helping keep your home clean and comfortable. It supports healthy skin for pets and reduces issues like tangles, mats, and fur build-up. I have had the original Furminator and this is better! The two blade sizes allow me to use this on cats and dogs both which is great for mixed households. The wider blade helps me with my thinks-shes-a-Persian British Shorthair (short hair--so not the case). If I used the short blade on her, (the blade that works best for my other 3) it would take three times as long to get thru her Highness' dense thicket of a coat. It is shocking the amount of hair that comes off my cats, even my orange tiger who is convinced he never sheds, ever. Both blades work fabulously, better than I remember the original Furminator working, that I lost in my last move. This is, of course, much cheaper but the quality does not reflect that. One word of caution. Every review I've read swears that even cats who don't like getting groomed, like this comb. Well, that's not the case with my cats. They still don't like it, but it's not the feel of the tool. My little British Shorthair has had problems with urine crystals and is super sensitive to anything touching the area past her middle back down to the tail region. She is ok with me using this back there (I'm gentle). She doesn't always groom thoroughly in those areas and I have discovered mats. You can't just yank this comb thru the mats--that will definitely hurt a cat! But just like human hair when it gets a bad snarl, if you work things gently, it does very well getting mats cleared out. Just make sure you anchor a cat's fur between the mat and the skin because with these blades, a good yank will tear out a mat and it could possibly come with skin attached as a result. So be gentle when attacking mats.

This is a great tool! I have 2 Shetland Sheep dogs. One of them has such a thick undercoat, that I could make a coat for 2 other dogs. I use a slicker brush and it works great but for her, it's just not enough. The Pet Republique De-shedding tool is a lifesaver! It does what the slicker brush can't. It removes the super thick undercoat and can help remove little matted areas and it does it painlessly! The added bonus of the interchangeable blades is great too. This is a must have tool for anyone who has a dog with an undercoat. It works in tandem with a slicker brush. I'm so grateful to have found it. Hands down the best tool for those thick undercoats. It's very comfortable to use too. I'm so happy I found this De-shedding tool.

we have always used a fine toothed metal comb on our long-haired cats. One cat loves it and the other hates it. So we tried this deshedder. The cat that hated being combed is much more receptive to the deshedder -- at least he doesn't growl while being combed. I think this is because this deshedder actually cuts fur, whereas the old comb pulled on his fur too much. The short teeth on the deshedder don't retain the loose fur though, and it tends to go everywhere while grooming the cats.

We ordered this tool hoping it would work as well as the more expensive one. We received it quickly and grabbed our Corgi who has a terrible shedding issue; clumps of fur all around the house. We went outside and starting combing her. OMG! There was a lot of fur flying off of her. She acted like she loved the combing too. Sat still and let us comb her. She certainly looked a lot better after we were through. Her coat was smooth and it looked like she had lost a pound or two. We used the big comb but will now use the small one for her legs and undercarriage. We really like this tool. It worked very well. It seems sturdy enough to last a while. Just for grins and giggles we ran the tool across our black lab who gave us a questioning look. A few hairs were found on the brush but certainly nothing like that from the Corgi. Yes, it is worth the money.

Unfortunately, I don't use this tool as much as I use one I purchased that does not hurt my big dog when I use it. The edges tend to be sharp on her skin when I use this tool, so, she pulls away from me when I use it. Sorry, guys. Just being honest. It works as stated, just a little too rough on my dog.

I spent $70 bucks for a Furminator about eight years ago for my long haired Shepherd Huskie mix and that thing combed out enough fur to save me dozens of Electrolux vacuum cleaner bags to make up for its absurdly overpriced existence. But my dog died and I gave the brush to friends (who don't use it enough because I go over to their house, take my shoes off, and leave with enough dog fur on my socks to knit into blankets). Anyway, now, two years later I have a new Shepherd furry friend and I didn't have the heart to ask for my brush back, so I went online and realized these brushes are now a lot cheaper. so I took a gamble on this product. The verdict: Buy this one, not the overpriced one. They do the exact same job. And I like that the blade is detachable. I'm sure it will last the life of my dog and if I ever wise up and get a smaller breed, I can get a smaller blade.5/5 stars. And the seller was fast.

This is an amazing little tool. My long haired cats really like it. It even cleaned the fur off their blanket and the footstool they like to lay on. Tried it in my own curly hair to see what it felt like but it was not pleasant. However, the cats disagree! I ask if they want to be combed and they come running and jump up on their stand purring. I combed out enough fur to make a whole other cat...they should be bald! It also did a great job of getting out the burr clover burrs and small bits of twigs and leaves one cat picks up outside, When she comes in; she jumps on her perch and calls me to take care of her fur...little brat. Like they say, dogs have master's, cats have staff! Glad I got this tool. I am gentle with it because it feels harsh on my head, but the cats do love it. You should see the bliss on their faces when I am using it.
