There are things I love about this lens hood: It allows the hood to be flipped around for compact storage, it doesn't prevent the use of lens filters and lens caps, all great.The one thing that ruins it for me is that the hood just snaps on to the adapter ring with a few loose-fit plastic tabs instead of using a quarter turn lock like most other hoods. It's incredibly insecure and will very easily pop off the adapter ring if jostled or bumped.

The hood doesn't clip properly onto the ring, fails to align properly, and falls off with the slightest touch. Not only that, the adapter now refuses to budge so I can't remove it from the lens. Absolute waste of money, avoid.

I don't know why they refer to this as Sony. It's better than that in the sense that it will work on most any lens with the correct diameter Could be Canon or Fujifilm, choosing by random. It twists onto the screw on adapter. There is a tad bit of play but it's not mission critical. Some people will like the twist off rather than the longer process of screwing off the lens hood. It's quicker than screw off and the adapter is not in the way at all. It works for me. Yes. I do recommend this product.

It doesn't seem like is going to last long. You get what you pay for I guess.Snaps into place but is a bit difficult to get it sitting just right. It has 4 retractable mini wedges to keep it in place and I don't think those will last long.No step up to 49 or 52 mm for a bigger cap. Makes it look very awkward with a very tiny lens and cap and a big sun guard around it.

When I got the kit lens, I was wondering what I would do without a lens shade. I use them on all my other lens and I feel they offer a little bit of protection against the occasional bump. This fits the lens perfectly and seems well made. The adapter ring seems to be made of metal. This does the trick and reverses nicely so when the lens is retracted, the shade doesn’t as much to the size. Great purchase.

Threads on to my UV filter and works like a charm. Elegant and simple solution. Clips on and off the adapter and hopefully the clipping mechanism on the shade is durable! So far it works great!
