I've been making my own zero clearance inserts for some time, using scraps from my wood rack. They tended to wear out so I decided to try out this insert, thinking that the phenolic surface would wear longer. A scratch test on the surface indicates that this will be an improvement over my shop-build inserts. So far, I'm pleased.

Fits like a glove! Takes about a minute to fine tune the adjustment screws and remove all play and another couple to fine tune the level with the table top. Phenolic inserts are the only way to go on any table saw, I even have them on my portable. They’re smooth, perfectly flat, strong, stable, and long lasting. Unlike cheaper MDF or even polymer. Zero clearance not only makes cleaner cuts but also makes the saw safer by not allowing small pieces to fall into the blade opening. I bought 3, 1 for straight 90 cuts only, 1 for beveling, and 1 for my dado blade setup.Highly recommended this product.

I have delta contractor saw. This insert fit the opening perfectly. It has adjustment screws in the side and the end to eliminate any slopy in those directions. It also has four screws to level the flat surface of the insert with the table saw surface. When I started to cut the opening in the insert and the insert was level with the table saw top my saw blade was touching the insert and would not rotate because it got stuck in the insert material. What I did was use the four leveling screws to raise the insert so the saw blade could spin freely. That made it easy to raise the blade and cut the slot in the insert for the blade.

Like a previous reviewer, I have a vintage Grizzly G1022SM Table Saw that was rapidly upgraded to the "Z" version with cast iron wings and updated fence. Since getting parts for it is impossible, I take extremely good care of the saw. I just finished a complete tear-down, removing the trunion and cleaning, inspecting and re-packing the bearings. Reassembled and aligned with care, still working fine. I'm doing some laminate work, and needed a zero-clearance insert. This one measured out correctly, and I placed the order. Upon arrival, I compared it to the existing insert, and found that it was too wide and too long, but not by much. Thankfully, having a well equipped shop, I used a bench top disc/belt sander to take the nubs on the right side completely off, and take about 1/16" off the front to get a snug fit. The nub on the back had to have about half the size filed off so it would sit under the table and adjust properly. Of course, taking that much off the front, I had to re-countersink the adjusting screw threads to get the adjusting screw to flush up with the insert. OK, now we're ready. The insert performs as advertised, with an every so slight hump up towards the middle of the insert, which I"m not worried about. As long as it keeps scraps from getting between the blade and the insert, I'm fine with it.One last thing I did. I removed the adjusting screws from the insert, and placed a drop of hot-melt glue into the threads. I immediately used compressed air to blow out the hot-melt glue, leaving a fine coating of glue on the threads. The adjusting screws now lock into place, and it takes a bit of effort to move them again. Just what I wanted. Works perfectly now, in and out with no adjustments required. If you have a decently outfitted shop, you can get this to fit and adjust out just fine. Worth the money, and I'll be buying a few more for dado work. Very much recommended if you don't mind a bit of work get sized it properly.
