A car air filter needs to do two things: 1) fit the opening and 2) filter the air. This one fits my 2019 Buick Envision, and it looks like a fine air filter, with a layer of pre-filter attached to the main filter. It has the little nub in the proper place (see the 2nd picture). My only argument is with the posted description of the filter: they claim it can be changed without tools. That is not true on an 2019 Buick Envision. You need a decent Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the cover (on most cars there are clips you unfasten) and you have to disconnect the air hose (a screwdriver) or you won’t be able reach the last screw so you can lift the cover to change out the filter. The price is very good, and while the installation is not tool-free, that has nothing to do with this filter, it is because of the design of the car.

I own a 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty with the 6.2 liter gas V-8. It's spring so its time to do an oil and filter changes. The Philtop engine air filter is a direct replacement for the Fram CA12183 air filter and fit my truck perfectly. This air filter is is built very well and is rated for high filtration efficiency at over 99.6%. That works for me! Seriously though, this filter is every bit as good as the OEM filter and as good if not better than a Fram air filter.

Review for PHILTOP Engine Air Filter CA10888 - Replacement for 2012 6.7L diesel Ford F-250 Super Duty. At first I was a little skeptical that a pink edged air filter would work in my truck. I measured everything and I can tell you it was a dead on match to my existing FRAM air filter that I was replacing, except for the color. My wife thought it was great that I was adding pink to my dark blue truck. She thought it was pretty funny and said that it’s too bad that it will be hidden in the air box. I even took a picture for her showing that it was in the truck. I can tell you that it fit perfectly. There was no squishing or torquing. The air box even closed to the same position as it did previously. It was a breeze to install, taking less than 5 minutes. For the price on Amazon (under $15 with tax) it was a bargain. It appeared to be decent quality filter material as well. They were firm to the touch and not mushy. After installation I ran the truck at idle and then cruising speed and didn’t notice any power loss or issues at idle. I would say that it functions exactly as it should. I included pictures of the old and new filter side by side so you could see the differences.

The Engine Air Filter by the Philtop Store arrived yesterday (so this is more a short term, appearance Review). This air filter comes w/ an Instruction Manual, but as it may fit a lot of different models, they can't be too specific and cover every option or always be right. Mine has a sticker on it indicating it has the air filter inside and the housing is rectangular, has 4 metal clips attached, to flip up and away from the housing.Almost anyone can change their air filter. But you may get dirty, so I usually wear old clothes and I may wear thin work gloves, for protection against cuts. (Yeah, I know, you wouldn't think you'd need gloves to change an air filter, but I usually thought this to myself before each injury. So trust me, you can!) And, while you can get filter and fluid changes at shops, they sometimes forget, or make mistakes and damage your car, so I do my own.For my model, before ordering the part, I first confirmed my engine size - which was both in my car manual, and on a sticker under the hood (actual back side). For me, my 2005 Hyundai Tucson is a 2.7L (6 cylinder), and for it, there are 4 metal clips to release the air filter HOUSING top part from the bottom. I can usually flip them open with my finger, but you need a flat blade screwdriver to pry them off, especially if it's been many months or over a year since last opening it. Be careful - any plastic or rubber parts on old cars are often brittle and will break if too much pressure is applied.I recently learned that when checking them, the TOP of the filter, which you see when you partially removed the air filter housing, is commonly the cleanest part of the air filter, due to the air flow direction. So, you can't go by it's dirt level - it may initially be judged clean. You usually have to take the air filter out, and look at the bottom, air INTAKE side to judge how clean or dirty it is. And a comparison of a new air filter to a used one will often also make it clear that yours is overdue to be changed, which you want to check, if not change annually, especially if you drive a lot, as a dirty air filter can make your engine use slightly more gas.I usually bring at least 1 paper towel with me, and if the engine is COOL and OFF, check the fluids (engine oil, windshield washer fluid, and if safe, anti-freeze overflow tank, maybe the power steering fluid, brake fluid). On an automatic transmission vehicle, I check the transmission fluid with the vehicle in park, Emergency / Parking Brake on, and I make sure to stay away from moving pulleys or belts, and not have loose clothing on. And I try to clean any oily residue that is common on old vehicles, which helps me to identify parts, and sometimes to discover a leak early or a problem before something stops working. When I'm done, with my automatic transmission truck in Park, I may release the Emergency / Parking Brake, so I don't forget about it and drive with it on. - Which I've done twice, before realizing it.
