My son is REALLY bad about playing the switch, then just letting it sit for 3 months. It finally caught up with him and the factory battery just wouldnt take a full charge. Dropped this in, and while it was apart put a new rear case on it. Super happy.

It is never easy to trade out a battery in a console or handheld but this kit includes everything you need to do just that. It is a bit of an involved process but is a great option if your battery just completely dies and there is nothing else that can be done. I have not had any issues with the capacity or anything else and am really pleased with this product.

This battery works pretty well for my switch lite. I will say first off that it does not last as long as my OEM when I first bought my switch lite but it still works well. After plugging it in to test it, the battery was around 30 percent charge. I did have to cycle it a few times before it was holding a good charge. It does come with the basic tools to give you access to the switch lite battery. I am able to quickly replace the battery with the tools. It comes with a scraper so you can remove the old battery safely and securely. I did see what would happen to the battery if I leave it on stand by for a few days and it held a charge pretty well. I did not see much issue with it losing power quickly. It also had adhesive on the back of the battery so you can put it down. It is pretty easy to replace. The screw drivers are provided so you can remove the back plate off. The battery just does not have the nintendo logo on it but for the most part it is the same size. The capacity does seem a bit weaker than a new OEM nintendo battery. The wire and plug is very sturdy and secure so you do not have to worry about it breaking. Overall this is an okay battery replacement kit for your switch lite. The batteries looks nice and charges well with the switch charger. It does take a few cycles before I was able to get a good reliable charge out of it so be aware of that. The tools are nice to have and do make the job easier. They are not the best tool but they will do. The battery does not get hot or anything and was easy to install. It has lasted so far but it is not as strong as the OEM one in terms of performance.

To determine how long the battery will last, we need to know how much power is used while in use or in standby mode. There are some different figures given. For instance, it’s said that the Switch Lite draws 5W to 7.5W per hour. It’s also noted that it has a minimum run time of 3 hours (max draw), and a maximum run time of 7 hours (minimum draw).Using the nominal voltage of the batteries, 3.8V, to calculate amperage needed and the watt usage of 5 watts we come up with about 1.32 amps at the high end of usage. If we then use 7.5 watts, we get 1.98 amps. However, my tests showed that the maximum amps it can pull is 1.40A. At that draw, it lasted 2 hours 23 minutes. So, the 5 watt and 7.5 watt figures are not continuous usage.Another way to determine how long the battery will last in the Nintendo Switch Lite is to know how much power is drawn while its being used. Literature states that it will get about 3 to 7 hours of use time. So, we can calculate the amp draw for 7 hours and 3 hours. Three hours of run time gives a 1.19A draw, while 7 hours gives 0.51A draw. This is a 3570 mAh battery. The maximum amp draw should be its milli-amp/hour rating divided by 1000 – in this case, that’s 3.57A; however, to test for maximum capacity, batteries are usually tested at a 5-hour drain period, or 0.71 amps per hour. That’s because at a high amp drain, the battery will shut down because of voltage drop before it uses all of its capacity. The rated specs of this battery are 3.8V, 3750 mAh, and 13.6 Wh. I did four discharge tests at four different amperage draws. These are the tests and the amps. Rated – 1.40 amps (the battery could not provide more amps than this), Minimum Run Time (3 hours) – 1.19A, Maximum Run Time (7 hours) – 0.51A, Maximum Capacity – 0.71A.These are the results of my tests (the time listed is how long the battery produced power at that setting before it shut down):Rated – 1.4A; 8.69 Wh (63.9% of rated capacity); 2850 mAh (79.8% of rated capacity); 2 hr 23 minMin RT – 1.19 A; 10.0 Wh (73.5% of rated capacity); 3207 mAh (89.8% of rated capacity); 2 hr 41 minMax RT – 0.51A; 13.3 Wh (97.8% of rated capacity); 3734 mAh (104.6% of rated capacity); 7 hr 19 minMax Capacity – 0.71A; 11.5 Wh (84.6% of rated capacity); 3453 mAh (93.7% of rated capacity); 4 hr 51 minThe main takeaway from this is the length of “usage time” under the approximate amp load of use. The literature states that the minimum usage time is 3 hours. This battery got 2 hours and 41 minutes at that amp draw. The maximum usage time is 7 hours, and this battery got 7 hours and 19 minutes at that amp draw.It missed the rated watt/hours by less than 3%. It exceeded its rated milli-amp hours by almost 5%. Of course, that amp draw was less than the normal draw used to check capacity. Using that figure, it fell short of its Wh rating by 15% and its mAh rating by about 4%.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, this battery appears to be a decent replacement battery for the Nintendo Switch Lite as it almost matches the minimum of 3 hours and exceeds the maximum of 7 hours.

My switch lite is pretty old, so it makes me feel better to have this around just in case the original batteries dies. A lot cheaper than bringing it to the store to get a replacement.
