This is the handiest kit I have found in a long time. We can now finish one of the watering barrels we were making for our goats out in the field. It has the actual hole saw for the drill that we need to install the nipples supplied. The goats already take to these nipples fairly quick, especially when exposed to them young- but this will allow us to have a water vessel for them tat is not subject to as much evaporation as a trough has. Great investment for a small farm!

This is a great complete kit for setting up the nipple waterers for pigs. The bit worked perfect and it made building a pig waterer easy. For the price this feels like a steal. The fitting I think would work better for a flat mount- but the back price of the brass fitting is round so it was difficult to hold the fitting still and screw the nipple in. The real is holding well- with the 55 gallon drum was filled with water there was a tiny leak - but it’s one drip every so often. I am going to try using a pipe wrench to tighten it more once they get the water down.I got this because it’s winter and we have had issues with the short metal troughs freezing - and I couldn’t find a tank heater for a pig trough. Now on cold days and nights I can drop a tank heater in the drum and not worry about their water access.

Some of the nipples have a sharp corner, which may lead to cuts.The bulkhead fittings work well and having the hole saw included is convenient.

I know the description said it was a kit, but I was still quite surprised at everything that is included. We raise pigs and I am very familiar with 'cheap' nipples. These are very nice. The nipple itself is very sturdy with good tension to stand up to the tough pigs. The hole saw this comes with makes this kit over the top! A 50 gal barrell and a drill is all you need to make a durable long lasting drinker for your pigs in a matter of minutes. Job well done to the manufacturer.Here’s my rating scale for products:1 Star: Do not buy. This item has serious flaws. I would never under any circumstances use again.2 Stars: Do not buy. Its usable at best, but you could easily find something better.3 Stars: Just ok. Buy if you can't find an alternative. Some issues need to be addressed.4 Stars: Recommend purchase. These pig/dog/medium size animal water nipples are awesome. I already use the chicken water nipples for all of my pet bottles, as they never drip like the ball type bottles do. They also are much easier for the animal to drink from without wearing themselves out for a couple of drops of water. Not only that, but you can have an open top water tank that is easy to refill since they don't rely on a vacuum to keep from leaking.So when I saw these larger variants I had to try them. This size is perfect for dogs, pigs, sheep, or any other larger but not massive animals. This set is a very good value. The thru hull fittings are very high quality with clean threads, and each of the valves were air tight. I took one apart to inspect the plunger, cap, spring and sealing surface. I was happy to see that it was an O-Ring and very easily replaceable.The seals that came with the thru hull fittings are a soft rubber I believe, not quite silicone. If you flex them they stay slightly bent and have a slight rubbery smell to them. They seal perfectly, but I cannot yet say how long they will or will not last in UV exposure. They feel perfect for the job though.I think the most impressive thing about the kit is coming with the perfect sized bi-metallic hole saw. That one saw would be more expensive than the set at a typical hardware store. I really like the spring core ejector on the saws centering bit. The only negative to that is that the core will likely eject into your tank. This won't likely be a problem if you have the space and arm reach to tighten the inner nut though.I wanted to test of the saw was sharp, so I put it up against a PET bottle. A very hard crispy plastic that's hard to drill. It sliced right through it with no melting, and the thru hull fitting fit in it exactly.I have nasty blizzard conditions outside right now so I won't be putting these into water service yet, but I did use one for a pressure release foot stomp valve for a T-shirt press. Works perfectly and will likely last forever.I like that they even included a bit of Teflon tape too. Super great kit for the price.
