This Thunderbolt 5 cable is a true all-in-one solution, boasting 80GB/s speeds and up to 240W charging. I’ve used it for multiple purposes: connecting my laptop to a monitor, linking my external hard drive to my computer, attaching my high-speed NVMe SSD to my PC, and charging my iPad with its 100W fast-charging capability. It’s Thunderbolt-certified, compatible with USB4 and USB-C, and at 3.3 feet (about 1 meter), it’s long enough for most setups. This cable is exceptionally reliable in my experience. It complies with the latest USB standards, and I recommend it for devices that require high-speed data transfer or fast charging.Display connections via DP ALT mode worked without any issues. I had no problems with USB-PD fast charging up to 20V/5A (100W). The ESR of the cable is around 150mOhm, and it should be suitable for 5A power delivery. I could not test the maximum speed of Thunderbolt 5, but the cable was able to transfer data at approximately 3GB/sec (24Gbps) with my external SSD. The product is listed in Intel's database as a Thunderbolt 5-compliant cable, and its eMarker correctly registers its specifications.

I don't have a Thunderbolt 5 device to connect to my Mac yet, but this well-made Plugable Thunderbolt 5 cable works exceptionally well with my Thunderbolt 4 drive enclosure and especially my Plugable Thunderbolt 4 dock. The cable is 3 feet 3 inches as described, which is long enough to get around to the back of my Mac and with some length to spare, but not so long that it impacts performance. The connectors for this cable are labeled with a lightning bolt and the number 5, which is something I really appreciate because I have so many other cables with USB-C ends that are either USB 2.0 speeds used primarily for charging, or some variant of USB 3.0. More manufacturers should label their cables similar to what Plugable has done with this one. I like that this very high speed cable is also rated for 240W power delivery, so it isn't limited in supplying power to a laptop connected to my Thunderbolt dock.

I have had very good luck with Pluggable products over the years - not only cords and cables but also charging devices, hubs and docks. This cord is TB5 and backward compatible - I tested it with TB5/4/3 devices and it worked like a charm all around. For comparison, I used a different manufacturer’s TB4 cord with a TB3 laptop and it fried the laptop - thankfully it was still under warranty and was replaced. So I was VERY CAREFUL when I tested the Pluggable TB5 with older devices and I’m happy to report that there were no casualties! Power/charging and data transfer speeds are all lightening fast. If you’re looking for TB5 perfection then this is it, hands down! :)

This is a great cable. Have always loved plugable branded cables, and this doesn't disappoint.Works really well. Standard length, and easy enough to plug into any of your usb-c outlets/devices.Would definitely recommend.

I ordered this to have a high wattage PD charging cable for my Lenovo i9 which is a power hog. The charger that comes with the computer is a massive brick and I wanted to be able to charge off my Anker USB-C high wattage 120v charger. Though I only see it ramp up to 90-100W I'm sure that's a limitation of the charger, but I wanted a cable which is rated for much higher so that it's not being maxed out. This one seems to do the trick. It's more flexible than some of the other's I've seen but still thick enough meaning hopefully heavier gauge wiring inside. The connectors engage firmly and aren't super heavy on the USB-C port like some others are.

I have a new Mac Mini M4 Pro that has USB 3 (10Gbps) front connectors and Thunderbolt 5 / USB4 connections (up to 120Gbps) rear connectors. I also have a WD_BLACK 4TB SN850X NVMe Internal SSD Gen4 PCIe M.2 2280 WDS400T2X0E (ASIN B0B7CQ2CHH) in a ASUS ROG STRIX Arion Aluminum Alloy M.2 NVMe SSD External Portable Enclosure Case USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps) (ASIN B07ZKB4SLK) that I use for Time Machine backups for my two Mac Minis and my MacBook Air. I was curious about the speed of the USB4/Thunderbolt connections on my Mac Mini M4 Pro and got this Plugable Thunderbolt 5 Cable with 80Gbps and 240W Charging, Thunderbolt Certified, Up to 120Gbps Bandwidth Boost, Compatible with Thunderbolt 4/3, USB4, USB C 3.3ft cable to see if I would see any speed difference between using the front vs rear USB C ports. From the preceding specs, I think you'll see that I'm limited by the NVMe SSD enclosure and sure enough, I found that the performance between front and rear USB C connections was the same. Disappointing, but that's what I expected. I'll be looking for a faster external SSD enclosure and that's when I'll be really testing this cable. But for now, I'm pleased that it works as a very fast USB C cable, and I'm looking forward to truly testing it in USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4/5 setups. Perhaps for a new monitor I'm looking at! For now, I still give this 5 stars for the potential this cable has for blazing fast speeds!

Super fast transfers. I did a test transfer from a Crucial X10 SSD drive with speeds of 2,100MB/s Read, 2,000MB/s Write using thunderbolt 4 port on my laptop. I transferred 22gb in 30 secs. 1gb files transfer are almost too fast to see it happen. Likewise I can use this cable as power delivery for my power hungry laptop too. Very happy with this cable and will have to keep it with the laptop so it doesn't get stuck only charging ear buds.

This cable delivers outstanding speeds and power—it’s perfect for high-performance setups that require fast data transfer and high-wattage charging. The 80Gbps speed is impressive, and I appreciate the Thunderbolt certification for guaranteed compatibility. My only downside is the price—it’s a bit on the expensive side compared to standard USB-C cables. However, if you need the best in speed and power, this is a fantastic investment!

The Plugable Thunderbolt 5 Cable is a three foot long vinyl cable that is clearly marked with a label and a 5 on the cable end. I have several Thunderbolt 4 cables and this cable transfers data at the same rate as them. I don’t have any Thunderbolt 5 devices to test at this point.
