Had a set of 5.25 Polks way back in 2000 on my TJ. They dont make the same model so was hesitant with these thinking quality might have dropped since then. Thats a whole lot of NOPE. These are the 6.5" and supposedly would fit. They did. However a PITA with the roll bar padding, everything is black and 2 screws each go in a little crooked. Worse part is I put them in then found out the guards dont clamp on and had to pull them all the way back out to put the screws it. But that human error on install. I'm still amazed they fit in the factory roll bar location going up from a 5.25" that are now in the dash replacing the crappy 4x6" that were more like 3x5" junky things. Anyhow. Polks will not disappoint. They are crystal clear and loud as all holly F! Used to cruise with the volume on mid 20s and with the windows down put it to about 33 and anything after that was just noise till I came to a stop. never mind having the top off and hearing. Bumped the settings up with the EQ and cranked it to 40. My ears are still ringing, but that was crystal clear AC/DC coming out. Im sure they will go higher, but just sitting in the garage with the testing and it was rocking. If I blow the new dash 5.25" up I will look for some smaller Polks to replace them. So glad they didnt lose quality like so many other brands over time.

Worked great in boat to replace stock speakers. A bit smaller then described but solid sounding speakers.

So much better than my OEM speakers. Crisp sound, got some bass in em, easy to install, slightly smaller for the bracket to my 2000 toyota solara but made em work. Great speakers for the price. Would highly recommend.

I got these based on a youtube video I saw and I had my hesitations because of the price but after installing them there was such a dramatic difference in the sound quality that I am genuinely glad I didnt spend more. These perform so well that I was shocked by their midtones highs and even bass levels.A lot of cheaper speakers lack one of those three and these just hit every check mark of quality it really left me quite happy and satisfied with this purchase.

I used these a long time ago in a 1995 Land Cruiser and they worked great. Recently I picked up a 2000 Honda Accord for free, fixed a couple of things and it works great. I wanted to upgrade the 24-year-old sound system and purchased some new Kenwood 6x9 speakers for the back and 6.5 JVC for the front but I was very dissatisfied with the front speakers. With that combo most of the sound was coming from the back and when changing the fader to balance and fullness of the sound. So I spent a little more (I think the Polk was $50) and it was very worth it! The construction is much better and the magnet is much stronger. Now the sound is very balanced, full, and sounds great! All of this without spending much money. These are an amazing value for this much quality.

Nice shallow install speaker for my boat. The sound is very good, with no distortion.

I do not consider myself a connoisseur of car audio sound, so I don't feel qualified to offer a very critical review of the speaker sound for this installation. My own car is a 2011 Ford Fiesta with a factory sound system (front doors only- but separate tweeters) and I think that it sounds fairly decent to my ears; keep that in mind when evaluating my four star rating. I purchased these speakers as a gift for a family member and installed them as replacements for torn factory speakers in a '99 Nissan Altima (front doors). Compared to what they replaced, the Polk sounded astonishingly brilliant. The rear factory speakers were still intact and sounded just barely okay to my ears, but in a front to read comparison, the Polk speakers were clearly `fuller' and much more natural sounding for all of the music I played (rock and jazz) during subsequent test drives. Yes, I am aware that I am comparing two different sound paths, but other than my Fiesta that is all I had to contrast these with. I thought the midrange was quite adequate, and the bass was satisfying enough. That said, buffoons who like to annoy their neighbors and fellow motorists with heavy hitting low frequency sounds probably won't like these too much for a stand-alone speaker set. By the way, although the tweeter orientation is not adjustable, that was compensated somewhat by the Altima angled mount configuration. For ease of mounting (which should carry only a small percentage of the review rating IMHO), these were no more difficult to install than any other generic speaker set of the proper depth. They are not drop-in replacements for the Altima, but then they aren't promoted as such and the shallow mounting depth provided enough clearance with the Altima factory speaker mounts. I did not purchase any speaker adapters to mount them; rather, I simply drilled and cut clearance slots into the stock molded plastic mounts in order to make use of the supplied mounting hardware (sheet metal `nuts' and screws). For anyone contemplating this same speaker/car installation, it will be necessary to cut the corners off one leg of the supplied nut plates- which were nothing more than a piece of folded metal strips with punched holes. After trimming the nut corners and cutting thin slots in the factory plastic mount to clear one leg of each nut, I was able to install the speakers with supplied gaskets into the existing speaking locations. I did not like how the screw head would dig into the soft `filler' (for lack of a better term) of the speaker rim; there should be a hard shoulder in the speaker rim for the screw head to tighten up against without displacing the filler material into the sound cone rubber surround support and thereby distorting it at that location. This would not be a problem if you had a location where they could be mounted from the rear though.
