If you have a lot of swimmers (or even 1 pet,) shock your pool to remove contaminants. Had a lot of rain? Shock your pool, as that rain added contaminants you don’t want to be swimming in. Shock for swimming pools is also key if you need to clear cloudy pool water or kill pool algae. And since it’s chlorine, it helps your regular pool sanitizer kill bacteria to keep the pool safe for swimming.

This shock work great for me. We have a 40,000 gallon pool and other have had problems with this item but I had nothing but success. It’s easy to use, like it come in packages, I guess I lay down side is the box it comes in really. It is extremely strong and wish they could hide smell. Only reason I subtracted a start was the packing. Hope this works out for everyone thanks and God Bless

Works just as well as a "Brand name" shock. I like this for the price.

This pool shock works as expected without adding calcium to the water. 1 lb per 10,000 gallons is about right for chlorine levels.

Not working. Extremely disappointed. I've been using the HTH and decided to try something cheaper. Stupidly, I didn't check the ingredients. The result, our clean pool 'free chlorine level' is the worst it's ever, ever been, and we've now used 4 packages and virtually nothing. But in previous months and years HTH brought it up with just 1 package.I read that this 'triclor' formula is extremely slow as a Shock, just to be aware.

I'm not sure what changed in this product since last year but it does not work in my same pool. I used this last year and was satisfied so I bought it again as it is cheaper than competitors. Now I know why. The product has changed, is only 47% tri-chlor and it's a mixture of dust and product that won't dissolve well. For a 16,000 gallon pool I should only need 1.5 bags weekly in a balanced pool. It worked last year. This year, I'm adding 3 bags almost DAILY. Testing the water after application shows a balanced free chlorine level for about a day. Retest the next day and zero chlorine level.

Tri chlor shock is the only thing that works to kill the black algae that I occasionaly get in my pool.Tri chlor shock is very hard to find this year (2023) because the two main chemical plants that manufacture it are shut down for repairs. The price at my local pool store chain has doubled since last year and is now $11.99 for a 1 pound bag, and I use 3 bags at a time to kill the black algae. This Aqua Clear Tri Chlor is the exact same concentration as the pool store brand, but the price works out to only $3.53 per 1 pound bag. A true bargain. The only drawback is that it comes in a box of 24 one pound bags, which will probably last me 4-5 years.
