The mounting piece does not clip/snap into the Starlink Mini. It's somewhat tight but could dislodge. The quality of the material is pretty solid.

I got this to mount outside my room on the balcony railing. It did that simply. I don't know about mounting it outside a moving vehicle though. Like another reviewer said, parts are plastic. I'll do more testing before I take it out on the road. But for my use case it works perfectly.

I got it simply because it is so versatile in it's ability to position itself on the not so perfect and not so level surfaces. I've got a heavy duty cage I take camping. I don't have roof rack on the RV, but I have a heavy duty bike basket that I can throw up there with a couple of jugs of water in it and it ain't goin' nowhere! You might laugh at the "bike basket", but this thing is built like a tank and I have often questioned if it's really meant for a bike or a four wheeler! Another great Amazon find! Needless to say, this will attach to a lot of different things, as long as its some type of bar that's roughly the diameter of seat post or handle bar. . . It may even go a it beyond that, but not much.

THe mini mount arrived quickly, was well packaged, and undamaged. The mini mount was exactly what we needed for our RV. We are attempting to use this for our camper. The mount was easy for my huband to install. He did not curse at all so I know that it a good sign!

I got this for my van, this easily and quickly clamps to the roof rack. The listing does not state this is for driving, so I'm not going to comment on that. This one is like so many other Starlink mounting kits, I don't understand why they insist on re-creating the Starlink bracket, just use the pipe-mount bracket that the Starlink comes with, stop re-inventing things, and for the worse. Normally I would have simply screwed a pipe adapter onto this, but sadly the mounting screw is not a common size so that didn't work! I had to steal one from my old ball mounted adapter.That aside, the adapter that it comes with is overly complicated to install. First the plastic Starlink adapter gets clipped on (which is typical) but then a metal adapter is screwed onto that with 4 screws, then the ball mount is screwed onto that. Geesh. I have reviewed several of these Starlink mounts and this one is by far the most complicated setup I've seen providing no additional benefit.The only straightforward things are the arm and bar clamp, they work nicely and can be made tight enough to hold the starlink from moving in the wind.

I wpuld not trust this while vehicle is in motion, the starlink is connectes to plastic, yet the descrippltion says it is a metal mount which i feel is a bit deceptive since the specifics are so minimal to start with.Aside from that. The plastic peice would not lock fully into place.
