While this is marketed as a microscope for kids - I got it for soldering. It's the stereoscopic feature that attracted me - I just can't solder squinting through a tiny single eyepiece. I was also attracted by the "wide angle eyepieces", and the appearance, from the photos, of a relatively large distance between the objective and the slide. It works OK for soldering - though it won't be the solution I ultimately rest on. There is still really not nearly enough space between the objective and the workpiece to work easily - not surprising - I know I'm using for something its not really designed for.As a kids microscope, it's pretty good. Magnification isn't really sufficient, to be honest - and I am skeptical that it reaches the 50X promised. It should be enough to see tardigrades, though - that's my current goal.

This microscope comes with binocular lenses that make viewing the slides much easier. It has three magnification levels that allow you to look at your slides from different perspectives. It comes with sample slides with plant and insect parts to let you get started right away. The only thing you'll need to get with this is some blank slides to make your own samples. I wish this would have come with even a few blank slides. It would have made things easier. But the slides weren't that big of a deal. It's really worth the money for a starter kit that gets you started right a way and get your child engaged.

The double lens is so good. It really gives the viewer a sense of dimension. The observable items it came with are not amazing, but it is fun that there is something in the kit to view and discuss. Mostly for showing how it works and demonstrating what you can see through it. Lots of bugs and plants, but not strong enough to see more than a tissue sample (not really cellular sized viewing). Still, a great item except that light. It is a bit too simple. I think a decent LED circle would give better/even lighting for what is being viewed.

This is great for beginners of all ages. Very good quality and easy to use. The focus works nicely and there's a light for easily looking at stuff anytime of the day or night. They provide slides which I thought was an awesome touch. The packaging was well thought out and the instructions were easy to read. The size is pretty compact for easy storage. This would also be a great gift

This kid-friendly microscope from OOZSTAR is a good starter tool for young scientists. The 20x-50x magnification is sufficient for basic exploration, and the reversible table plate is a nice feature. Although it's designed for kids, the build quality could be sturdier to better withstand frequent use. It's great for casual learning but might not satisfy more curious or older children.

This is a really neat tool for young, explorative minds. It comes with some slides already made which gets ideas going for kiddos. Another fun aspect of this microscope is the viewing area is lit from the top, not from below, which is great for looking at other things we find, like bugs, flower petals, and leaves. The interchangeable lenses are awesome too for changing magnification levels, however, we made sure to keep the little baggies they came in because I can see these easily getting misplaced.

My kids absolutely loved this microscope. It was great that there were samples already included in the package so they can look at things right off the bat. the magnification was enough for them to say "cool" and begin asking questions. My only complaint is that it would have been nice if it came with slides for things that were not a part of the kit like leaves in the yard that they can gather themselves. otherwise this is highly recommended as a starter kit!

I got this to hopefully augment my usual compound microscope. Even if it is smaller, I didn't think I would mind since itss a stereo microscope. I imagined using one eyepiece of a camera and view through the other eyepiece. I have since abanodoned that idea.I have got this thing to focus one time, and after that it just doesn't want to focus at all. Up all the way, down all the way, eyepiece lenses pulled in or out, whatever combination of objective lens, etc.. None of it matters because it just won't focus. The couple of times that I've gotten close, all I see is a bunch of dust. This is pretty much straight out of the box. The first time I used it, it immediately went back into the styrofoam packaging because I was disappointed with the and quality of the scope.Everything about it is smaller. You can't even fit a under the lens turret because the other lenses will hit your dish. The slides it came with are ok I guess, seems kind of generic because they are very similar to the set that came with the other kid's microscope that I tried. If you are looking for a cheap microscope for your kid who doesn't know what quality is, get them this. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else, unless you want to disappoint them.
