Direct replacement and coated for corrosion resistance. Gear shaft was pre centered. Only complaint was there was no preload on the gear, steering wheel was loosey goosey. Had to turn adjuster 3/8 turn. Will see how that works with some more road time. Just for info, recent ball joint, track bar and tie rod replacements and alignment.
