I needed a breakout for my RJ45 cable from my tower weather station. I wanted to test the signals coming down from the tower cable. I was able to plug this into a junction box and clearly see all the lines in the cable. Great solution for my problem.

The pin order within the adapter is completely reversed (pin 1 goes to pin 8, etc.). I bought this last year, so I don't know if this is still the case in 2024. Obviously, if you use this connector on both ends, it shouldn't be a problem, since reversing twice makes it correct. But if you use it with a correctly terminated RJ45 jack on the other end, it would fail to transfer data at best and fry a PoE device at worst. I wasted 30 minutes trying to chase down "crossed wires" until I found out this adapter itself is messed up.

Good quality connector. Please be aware that the terminals go to the opposite side of the ethernet connector. For example the brown ethernet pin is the furthest away, and so on. Not knowing this would have put +24v on the wrong pins of my POE equipment and burned it up.

Updating my previous review comments.Did some bench testing on these, turns out there are two different wire configurations.One has standard 568 color coded wires and straight through pinout. The other has white wires, which you can barley even see inside the RJ45, and a different pinout.I've ordered this same part multiple times and never know which one will be delivered so knocking down 1 star.Otherwise they work as long as you know the correct pinout.
