Straps arrived as expected in good condition. When I pressed the clasp down to insert the strap, the clasp did not spring back up. Wiggling it a bit and working with it seems to have loosened it and it now works properly.

They are quite strong...but...you are not going to get these type of straps "super tight". I think they are great for strength and a safety strap but if you need a "real tight" strap, I would not recommend them.

There we were on a bike trip, 60 miles to our destination with sore bottoms and thirsty gas tanks, and the road leader decided to take a last minute tour through the alligator reserve… there’s no gas stations in the alligator reserve. So naturally the smallest tank loses and my buddy is now stranded in the Alligator reserve. So with the little gas left, 2 of us take off in search of a gas station, and a can. After some luck and huge help from a local and his noble sacrifice of his gas can, I was on my way… to realizing I needed a good way to mount the can to my panniers. Now I had cord and rope and whatnot but my buddy had one of these to spare, so after a quick and easy strap down, we returned to our group hero’s.
