Fujian Zhenghe White Tea

Origin: Zhenghe County, Fujian Province

Characteristics:

Zhenghe white tea is one of the key white tea production areas in Fujian, renowned for its unique quality and rich flavor profile. Grown in the mountainous regions of Fujian, the tea benefits from a warm, humid climate and organic-rich soil, creating optimal conditions for its cultivation.

Yunnan Pu-erh White Tea

Origin: Pu-erh City, Yunnan Province

Characteristics:

Compared to Fujian white tea, Yunnan Pu-erh white tea has a wilder and more layered flavor. The unique climate of the Pu-erh region, with its rich biodiversity and high-altitude environment, contributes to the distinct flavor of Pu-erh white tea. This combination of factors creates a tea with a deeper, more complex taste.

This tea is a carefully crafted blend of Fujian Zhenghe white tea and Yunnan Pu-erh white tea, combining the unique qualities of both regions to create a tea with rich layers and a distinctive flavor profile.

Durable Packaging

Fujian Zhenghe White Tea’s Freshness and Floral Aroma: Zhenghe white tea contributes a delicate orchid fragrance and smooth taste, adding a refreshing and gentle note to this blend. Its clear, golden liquor carries a soft yet elegant floral aftertaste, offering a calm and lingering finish.

Golden-Illuminated Liquor

Yunnan Pu-erh White Tea’s Richness and Depth: Yunnan Pu-erh white tea brings a fuller, more robust flavor with earthy and woody undertones. The brew is rich and full-bodied, with subtle natural sweetness and a smooth, lingering aftertaste that deepens as you sip.

By blending these two distinct white teas, our tea balances the fresh floral notes of Zhenghe with the rich depth of Pu-erh, creating a complex yet harmonious taste. Each sip reveals a natural sweetness and delicacy, with a gentle orchid fragrance paired with a honey-like sweetness, delivering an exceptional and refined tea experience.

Brewing Instructions:

  1. For the best flavor, we recommend using filtered water instead of tap water to ensure a cleaner, smoother taste.
  2. If using a zisha teapot, consider shortening the brewing time slightly to preserve the tea's delicate flavor profile.
  3. Brew each tea bag with approximately 150ml of boiling water 212°F (100°C) for 2-3 minutes. If using 175°F (80°C) water, brew for up to 10 minutes.

The higher the temperature, the richer the layers of the tea soup, and when the temperature is lower, you can still drink the mild sweet aroma. Hope you have a good time.

My February 2025 order of ‘Curret Store Premium White Tea Blend, 15 Eco-Friendly PLA Tea Bags’ arrived in a shrink-wrapped metal tin with a double lid system. My tin has a Production Date of December 11 2024 on the bottom label, which also states the tea has an eighteen month shelf life. This white tea is from the Fujian and Yunnan provinces in China. The black metal tea tin is a nice one, with a standard double lid system to improve airtightness. Unfortunately my tin has a shallow thumb-sized dent in the side (likely a result of shipping). The white tea itself is very mild in flavor and aroma (as white tea is expected to be). It has a slight fruity and/or floral taste, but not as strong as herbal tea. There is a slight sweetness as well. Certainly enjoyable by itself, but hard to add any other ingredients (such as sweeteners or dairy) without covering up the tea flavor. I would say this is a tea for those who enjoy light teas without additions. I’m glad the tea bags are eco-friendly; however, they do take one minute or more to absorb water and sink below the surface.

This white tea blend is quite interesting - a mix of Fujian and Yunnan white teas. My guess is some sort of baimudan grade, as there is a mix of buds and leaves. This white tea has thick juicy stemmy floral flavor, along with honey and wheat notes. The body is thick and buttery. I mostly taste the Yunnan white qualities, which have a more robust flavor. The leaves are in decent shape and fresh, very good for tea bag quality. I get 3 or 4 reinfusions of the same leaves. Each bag has around 2 grams of white tea, which is quite a lot - you can get a good brew with a 10oz mug or bigger. You almost have enough to gongfu style brew with a bag, maybe 2. The bag is a simple fold over design and very large for best leaf expansion flavor. Leaves can escape. it is an unusual pre-bagged method, so maybe a human loaded each bag. I don't mind the bag but I can see some disliking the design. With quality White tea, it isn't as delicate. Poor quality white tea you need to brew like green tea, and you'll miss the body and flavor. The full leaf lets you brew at 200F or boiling without any astringency or bitterness. I like mine at 200F.There are 15 bags, so you get around 1oz of tea. The tin is very good - with an inner lid to keep the tea fresh and not absorb outside smells. Value isn't great per ounce, but it is decent tea. This gets you a taste of what good white tea should taste like. If you are a seasoned tea drinker, the white tea blend is nice.

I’ll be honest, most tea bags I’ve had in my life are made with very fine pieces of tea leaves, almost dust at times. It doesn’t make for the best quality tea, but for me it’s still worth the convenience. I was very impressed to find that that isn’t the case for these white tea bags at all. It’s proper tea leaves in there. I could probably pull the leaves out of the bag, and use a standard loose leaf tea strainer and still have a good experience. The flavor is really nice on this tea as well. It was a little floral, but mild and somewhat sweet. Just a really good white tea. I drank it plain, with no sugar or anything, as frankly I didn’t need or want it with this tea, as again, the flavor on its own was good. I will say this tea impressed me in the flavor area. The color comes out as a light transparent yellowish color. The first steep does seem to be much lighter in flavor and color, but the second one is a bit darker and more intense. You could probably get everything in the first steep by leaving it longer, but I didn’t test that.I do have a semi fancy kettle that boils water at different temperatures for different teas. It however, doesn’t show an actual temperature, and my thermometer I would have used was used for an aquarium… Not the water I want touching my tea, even if the thermometer was washed. However, I can see that the temperature for white tea is lower than every other, so definitely make sure you don’t burn your tea to keep the flavor from becoming bitter. Doing that likely did help my experience.

This is a review for the Premium White Tea Blend – Fujian Zhenghe & Yunnan Ancient Tree, Natural Honey-Like Sweetness, Orchid Aroma, 15 Eco-FriendlyI adore this tea - its truly something special! From the packaging to the tea itself, its perfect. The tin the tea bags come in is really elegant - black metal with a nice label - the tea bags, in a plastic bag closed with a twist tie, are double protected by a tight inner lid and the outer container's lid as well. The tea is in bags - they are very gauzy and light - you can clearly see the tea inside - this barely qualifies as a tea bag - just enough to keep all the tea together for easy removal, but the tea is not crushed and dusty crumbles that you usually associate with bagged teas and the bag has good flow so it has all the advantages of a tea bag (ease of use, no measuring, easy to dispose of) but also has the best qualities of the finest loose leaf tea. When I brew white tea I like to use water that is about 175*F - since the product features did not name a specific temperature, I went with my standard and it was just right for this tea! The product features do recommend 150 ml of water (about 2/3 Cup or 6oz) and a 2-3 minute brew - I used the receommended amount of water and took a taste after 3 minutes but I could not detect the scents and flavors described by the tea maker and it had also not achieved the gorgeous pale golden color that premium white teas typically have. The finer and less processed the white tea, the longer brew it needs ... so I left the bag in and kept tasting ... and after about 10 minutes I had the absolute perfect cup of tea! A faint honey taste over a clean crisp tea flavor and a floral smell each time you lift your cup to take a sip - its really something special!
