I thought because it was expensive that it was better than the other products I tried but they all come from the same country and they don't get it that people might live on a catwalk or outside of the apartment building that is open to rain and mist and wind. With that issue then the old one that I had for nine years is still working, it does not have the diameter and that ruined my door, since I thought the newer models were bigger and better but they are worse. Now with a 15/16 hole in my door, I had to use tape to put my old one back and it is still working but narraow and I am going to have to keep looking for one that works in the rain and wind and does not fog up as these so far do.Got to return it tomorrow and keep searching for one that fits this new hole and is not going to break in a couple of weeks. This is the rainy , hurricane season in South Florida and that lasts six months so I got problems and these companies say, lifetime warranty and they do not follow up some of them as they promise this one does not give a warranty since I called them and they tell me return it within the 30 days for a refund. This is the second one from this company, the diameter on the first was smaller but this one is wider and has the same problems as their otherone does.

I replaced the old door viewer on my front door with the gold brass color version of this viewer a few years go. Recently we changed out the old brass door hardware with brushed nickel (silver) colored lock and lever. I purchased this viewer so that the finish would match the new hardware. As the title says, this is a solid-feeling object which is nicely finished. The threads operate smoothly. It's easy to install and provides a bright clear and wide view through the door.

I purchased this viewer to replace an old brass viewer in my front door when I changed the hardware to a modern, satin-nickel finish. The old viewer required a hole 1 1/8" in diameter, and finding another door viewer that would fit that hole was definitely a challenge. In fact, this particular viewer is the ONLY viewer I found to fit that space perfectly.I'm very happy to report that the optics in this viewer are excellent, and far surpass those of the old viewer. I can definitely see a wide angle through the peephole, and the view is clear and crisp. Sadly, too many viewers distort the view or are unfocused, which negates the benefits of using such a viewer. The finish on this product is smooth and works with the satin nickel color scheme. Installation was as easy as fitting the two pieces together through the hole in the door and screwing them together. It took minutes to complete, and looks great.

Made well and works okay but the viewing angle is limited. Sure beats the smaller ones though.

Many years ago I switched to the 1-inch drill hole, and I'm glad I did because I believe the viewing is better. This 130-degree viewer is very high quality, and is a great replacement to my old brass viewer which had gotten a little hard to see out of due to the interior lens becoming dirty after 20 years.I am counting on another 20 years with this, plus the nickel finish on this viewer is suburb, and probably won't tarnish like my old brass one.I have double doors, and since this isn't 180 degree viewing, it's true that someone can hide by standing real close to the other door-I had a friend do that once. But hey, just don't answer the door.

This is a good choice for an extra large viewer. High quality and easy to install after drilling the proper size hole.

As always, these are not in stock in any stores. Although they look the same, the larger diameter just makes it that much easier to see through. The existing viewer was not exactly centered and too high (previously owner actually grew up here and played for the 76'ers). I actually like the larger look from outside. So, I just glued a plug into the existing hole using the plug making set that I already have (a dowel will work too) and put it in another location.Note: You have to have a large drill bit to make this work. I can't remember but I think it is actually 1".
