For background, I'm an adult goalie who played college club and still play men's league about 3-4 times a week. These are pretty well made. I've traditionally just used skate lace and knots, but my current CCM EF5 pads and skates I've never been able to keep them from untying during a skate, regardless of how I tied them. Wasn't an issue for me until I got the CCM pads. They originally came with an elastic pad system like these but broke within a month or two. Anyways, I've used these from Fix my Gear for about a year and I have purchased a couple of sets.I think the leather and velcro used for the straps is more than adequate quality and I've had no issues with them. They stay together during ice sessions and work as intended. I wear them somewhat loose, with a single knot at the bridge just to keep it centered, and then I run them straight back through the large middle hole of my skate and fasten them on top of my skate. My only complaint with these is I find I usually get about 3-4 months out of the shock cord before it starts to show pretty heavy wear or break. I view the shock cord as a consumable, not much different than how using skate lace was. These use a 1/4" shock cord, which you can find a 50' roll for cheap pretty easily on amazon. I find the 1/4" shock cord to be good in providing some tension without overdoing it. Overall, I give these 4.5/5 stars, as it would be nice if they included an extra pair of the precut shock cord since it's the cord that breaks, not the leather/velcro straps. They work for me and I will continue to use them.

I got these for my son's goalie pads and they are a great fit and quality. Easy to attach on the pads and very easy to use.

Great cost efficient alternative to the big name brand! Quick and easy replacement and the hole setup allows for adjustment for how tight the goalie wants it.

Much faster to put on and more forgiving on the joints than skate laces. Quick shipping.

It works well but the cords are too short and thick for my wife to adjust.

Dare I say they are better than the brand name version (Brian's). Plus they will fit perfectly well inside the tie whole on one piece True skates. No major bending or twisting to get them inside the toe whole.

They are an effective replacement, but the quality of the materials is low.

I was all excited to use these straps. Other goalies have been talking about them for a while, and I finally bit the bullet.I first tried to order from Monster, but apparently they went out of business. Apparently Amazon was spying on me and I saw an ad for these so I purchased a set.I put them on my Bauer pads, replacing the shoestring toe ties I've been using for a couple of years now.The straps went on perfect. Wasnt too snug, which is good, as it allows for extra play with the pad and the skate.I didnt have to cut or otherwise modify the straps or the cord, so that was a +.However, during the 2nd period, I tripped up on a breakaway. I thought maybe the velcro came undone. When I took an equipment break, no, the cord snapped in half (the two velcro pieces were still connected to each other). After the game, as I was taking off my pads, the other strap was found snapped as well, but almost perfectly in half where the ends didnt come in contact with the bottom of the skate. While a nice concept, this bungee cord did not live up to its hype. I could have honestly been ok after 5-10 games of wear, but first game? My shoestring ties had lasted well over 2yrs, but sadly you dont get the same bouncy play as you do with bungee cord.Pretty disappointed overall though.

Cord seems to be showing wear very quick. Only used them about 6 times.

Velcro is not the strongest, we'll see how it holds up...1/4" bungee is too thick for the flexibility I prefer, so I swapped it out for a thinner shock cord.
