Safety is always an afterthought. If you shoot often and shoot carbon arrows. This should be in your bag. So many delicate nerves in your hands. One arrow explosion and the damage is lifetime. Go ahead and look up "carbon arrow injuries." This glove will mitigate the potential risks of having an accident. Built well. High quality materials. Highly recommended.

I wanted to like this as much as I like the idea of comfortable hand protection but it just wasn’t in the cardsFirst of all the unisex design does not accommodate muscular male hands (and I already went 1 size larger than recommended) I imagine it would equally fail to accommodate slender female hands as well but can not easily confirm that with a sized large gloveSecond (and the real deal killer) is the wrist strap. The hard rubber pull sits right in the crook of your wrist and impedes normal range of motion. Not much, maybe 10% but who wants their wrist comfort/flexibility compromised when they are shooting.Because the undersized glove fits so snugly I can get away without using the strap but then the ends are dangling open and it’s still slightly constrictive so I’m not going to use itIt might work fantastically on a Goldilocks sized hand so if you think you have one of those give it a try. You can always send it back

This armored glove is a decent choice for young archers starting out. It offers a good balance of protection and flexibility. The lightweight design and uncovered fingers allow for a good range of motion, which is important for developing proper archery technique. The adjustable wrist strap and padded palm provide adequate protection for beginners. However, I did find the glove to be a bit larger than expected, even after careful measurement. While it fits my 12-year-old now, it might become too loose as he grows. For young archers who are just starting out, this glove is a good option to protect their hands without hindering their ability to learn. As they progress and their draw weight increases, they may need to upgrade to a more robust glove.

My son has just taken up archery and his hands were starting to really hurt. He was getting cuts from holding the bow. This glove was perfect. Honestly exactly what he needed. He does shoot with his left hand and so this is perfect. The glove is so thick. There’s no way he’s going to get damage at all. But he still has his fingers out so that he has dexterity. He has used the glove several times and no complaints. He is aged 12 and the small fit him perfectly.

For archery enthusiasts, the ProTX armored hand guard has been a valuable addition to my gear. The Kevlar design not only looks good but also effectively protects the left hand from stray bowstrings. Additionally, it is comfortable for long practice sessions, which is a significant advantage.

This glove is ok but the thumb protection is inadequate. I wish the protective patch covered the entire thumb as well. Unfortunately this is the only product on the market for protection against broken arrows while shooting and some protection is better than none at all. After you buy this product all you can hope for is that IF an arrow does break while shooting, that it does not end up in the back of your thumb. This glove could have had a full finger version instead of only a finger-less version and also they make these only for right handed archers. In short, The good news about this glove is that the patch is really good and will stop any arrow, the bad news is that the patch is too small and there is inadequate thumb protection. You could probably buy ballistic grade kevlar sheets and then sew/make your own version of this product with full thumb protection and all.

Very comfortable, and the Kevlar is reassuring. I'm particularly pleased that the glove protects further back on the wrist than the leather I previously wore. I hope I never have to find out how well it works, but I've had arrows shatter on launch and I'm a firm believer in protection. The only thing keeping me from awarding 5 stars is the fact that the armor stops a bit short of where I'd like to see it. If the Kevlar extended another half an inch toward the stitching, and extended even a bit onto the thumb, I'd be happier. This is important enough that I will probably stitch a leather patch to cover the area on my glove. Not as good as Kevlar, but better than nothing.I'd also love a full finger version of the glove.
