Amazon contacted me to schedule a delivery day and time because a signature is required. This pergola was packed extremely well. The manufacturer also contacted me several times through Amazon and once by phone to ensure that I had recieved the pergola, the lounge chair, and that I had contact a number and an email address for support should I need it. I should also mention that the lounge chair was free through a promotion at the time.Assembly wasn't too bad and I have a few tips. The instructions say not to tighten the bolts until fully assembled. This is not possible because there are bolts inside the corner posts which will be inaccessible when fully assembled. I also suggest starting those bolts first because they are harder to line up. I decided to tighten the bolts inside the corner posts, and the top bolts on all the cross bars, before I put the top covers/louvers on the ends of each side. You'll have a really hard time getting tools on those bolts if you dont. Other than that assembly was pretty easy.Not sure how often this happens, but I did have one weld snap while bolting one of the last pieces on. I fixed this with a 3/4" angle bracket (lines up perfectly), a self tapping metal screw, and an M6 1.0mm flange nut. You'll need to enlarge the hole on the side of the bracket the bolt goes through. I used a 15/64 drill bit. I'm sure Purple Leaf would have sent a replacement piece, but that would have required quite a bit of disassembly and it's not really in a noticeable location.Overall, we are extremely happy with the purchase. If you are looking for a louvered pergola I do recommend this one.Edit: We just had our first hard rain with the louvers closed. Everything under the pergola is dry. The back of the cushions around the edge were wet probably from the rain blowing through the screen. The louvers and gutter system are great!5/15/2025 - Almost at the 3 year mark and no issues at all. No rust. No damage. It's holding up great so far.

We are pleased with our new pergola from Purple Leaf. We built it on our deck to help deal with the bugs and afternoon sun. Late day sun would absolutely bake us on the deck, making it unpleasant from 3-6 PM. And at dusk, the mosquitos would come and finish us off. The pergola has fixed both of these problems. We closed the netting layer completely but only pulled the curtain partially closed on one side. This kept us shielded but still allowed for plenty of air flow.The construction project was certainly a challenge, and it took most of the weekend to complete. But honestly, I did it almost completely by myself. Needed a little help with moving it around and we had to "flip" it a couple of times. Other than that, it can be a one man job. After the lessons I learned building it, I could do another one much faster.I have to compliment the manufacturing. For such a large project with so many pieces, I was impressed that A.) everything was there (no missing parts) B.) there were no defects or dents or scratches mentioned by other reviews and C.) everything fit! Usually you deal with some defects like misalignments but everything went together nicely. It was actually quite elegant. And the materials are quality. This thing looks like it will last!Finally, the shipping was well handled. The pallet was in my backyard 7 days after ordering. Piece of cake.In all, the Purple Leaf pergola is a great addition to my backyard and I am so glad I ordered it.

We absolutely love this pergola. It took my son and me less than four hours to assemble ( we have both technical backgrounds, so keep that in mind ) . The product arrived in good shape with only a few dents here and then that are barely noticeable. The four covers for the posts were missing. We contacted customer service and they were sent to us in a few days ( it did not delay the assembly ). It is very stable and sturdy, which surprised me in a positive way, since for the price I was suspecting it could be kind of flimsy. Great value! My sister saw it and will buy one too and get rid of her wooden gazebo. The curtains and mosquito nets are a great feature, that are functionality and elegance. Be careful when installing them, since they have different heights because of the slope of the pergola.

We just redid our lanai at our home and needed a covered area to protect our table and guests while dining outside. There are many of these louvered pergola's and I did my due diligence in researching pergolas. I chose purple leaf because it seemed like the best bang for my buck. The delivery was prompt and confirmation of delivery was made by customer service. One box had damage and I assessed the part that was dented and it was deemed serviceable. Assembly was fairly straight forward, and I built 95% of it by myself with a ladder supporting the unmanned side. I Would recommend not anchoring the structure until the complete frame is built as this should ensure your structure is square. The directions say otherwise but the directions also called for .79 of an inch. I could not figure that out. Conveniently it began to rain as I was finishing up and as advertised, I was kept dry. All in all, I believe this to be a good product and hopefully will serve us for many years to come.
