Speakers came well packed in perfect condition in double boxes. No damage whatsoever. Connected them up to my old 80 watt amp. The sounded better than expected. I'd planned on using a subwoofer with them but they really don't need it. Try them playing the Eagles, Hotel California live performance. The base drum beat in the lengthy intro is deep and punchy and the guitar highs are clean and crisp. I'm using them in my living room but I'm sure they'd be just fine for a small karaoke venue. I think I got my money's worth.Update: I've had these speakers for about 6 months now. They're used weekly for about 3-4 and so far, they've continued to sound like they did when first installed. Great, no issues.

First , these speakers replace my two bigger and bulkier computer speaker . They fit better and sound good. The medium size woofer sound great in his adequate wood cabinet . For me , the good titanium tweeter is the biggest improvement from my earlier set up . The connection options is a plus too .

I bought two of these for my home use to drive music while I play guitar. I play through a Bugera v22 amp that is pretty loud. I play them through a Harman Kardon amp that really drives the speaker. I have to say for a fairly cheap speaker, it sounds loud and is very clear. The grill is the real deal - the speakers are very sturdy, have a dent on the grill to show for it. I have also used as a PA for a few Karaoke events at my wife's prior job. I'm updating as one speaker blew. I had the older version of the PADH1070 and I blew the woofer. This new speaker works fine. I use banana connectors and they were real well. You can also use professional speaker cables. These are tough, no nonsense speakers at an amazing price!

Early in August 2011 we purchased a pair to improve the sound from our parade float which already has 4 speakers. These replaced two of the smaller speakers on the float. The result is a very satisfying level of audio. The amount of bass is a satisfactory augmentation to the 15" speakers on-board. However, the level of materials and workmanship is decidedly inferior. One of the cabinets arrived with the 10" driver torn from its mounting due to the inferior pressed board used in the construction. We made repairs prior to first use, but these cabinets will not stand up to very much rough use. With proper care we will continue to use these speakers for a very satisfactory sound on our float.

Look, did I give this a perfect score because they are perfect? No, they received a perfect score because I truly believe nothing can beat their value. What do I consider value? What I consider to be value for a PA speaker is a balancing test. On one side of the scale there is build quality, sound, reliability and customer service and on the other side, cost.Build quality is substandard when contrasted to most other manufactures. One of the cabinets was a bit damaged from shipping; however, it was a quick fix. During my quick fix I opened the hood, so to speak, to take a look around. The wood was a light density and there were some minor quality control issues. Could I do better? I think so. However, I could not build a cabinet with carpet, grill, drivers, handles and hardware for anywhere close to what this assembled driver cost me. For the $ I was expecting a lot less. The sound far, far, far exceeded my expectations. I have had most of my experience with JBL's which I believe to be one of the benchmarks labels in sound reinforcement. I only say this to convince you, the reader, that I do know what good sound is. Being said, these were really not too bad. The bass extension was present for a 10". The mids sound like they were coming from a box, sadly. The highs were not nearly as harsh as I anticipated. After some break in they did sound better to boot. They do vocals really well considering the cross-over frequency is somewhere in the middle of the vocal range (I think). Again, for the $...great.Reliability and customer service....well, they included a form you may fill out if you blow a driver and the replacement costs are dirt cheap! Good enough for me!Overall...I have used these for medium sized parties with two of the 18" Pyle subs. I could not be more pleased considering the money I paid. If you are not using any subs...consider a larger driver if you want meaningful bass. Also, some reviews complain of clipping and distortion...this is most likely from under powering the speakers with a cheap amp...these speakers will go pretty clean until you fry a voice coil. Keep in mind, these drivers have a large excursion for a pro driver and a relatively rigid cone...just dont under power them and they will give you great results for the dough.
