The design printing is great, but the instructions do not show stitch type nor backstitching anywhere on the instructions. Yarn quality does not appear to be good. Will be returning this gift. Very dissappointed.

I'm not a beginner. I wanted this pattern so I can do an easy and relaxing pattern. If this is advertised as a beginner pattern then at least use the same symbols in the pattern/cloth. There are a few of them that look very much alike. I advise to double check when changing colors and compare the codes with both, the cloth legend and the paper pattern. I've had to do this with every color change.

This kit has everything you need to complete the project; thread, needles, pattern, canvas. The instructions are clear and the pattern is printed in colors to help distinguish different colors. Easy enough for beginners but also fun for anyone who has experience with these.

The printing on the canvas is really crisp and easy to read. At first I thought it was faded, but it turns out I was just looking at a more subdued shade of orange than I'm used to with printed cross stitch. The colors in this kit are really pretty and unique. The shades have a bit of gray in the tone making it not quite pastel not quite bright. There are a few shades that are bright for contrast but a subdued color palette. Very pretty.The pattern has full stitch, back stitch, and French knots. There are not too many French knots (only in one flower bush and you could probably skip if you really don't like them) and I would say there is a medium amount of back stitch and it's nothing to complicated. The back stitch is mostly straight lines with only a few curved areas to do. There are 48 colors so this has a good amount of detail and interest. There are some areas with a bit of confetti, but it's thoughtful confetti. It's not there because the chart maker is lazy...it's more for depth like in the flower bushes and trees.This would be just fine for an adventurous beginner. I say adventurous because backstitch can be intimidating if you've not done it before and some people avoid French knots. I think this canvas would be an ok one to learn on since there is a lot of straight line/outline type back stitch and only a few spots where you are sketching with backstitch. It is a long term project though. If you're not patient you might not want to start with this one and maybe do a small project for some instant success.

This is such a pretty cross stitch I use to do counted cross stitch but at my age (beyond retirement), this is just so relaxing and easier on the eyes. Would also be great for beginners.
