I bought this rain gauge for my dad’s birthday, and he really likes it! The floating design adds a fun touch compared to a standard rain gauge. So far, it has worked well and has been a great gift. Definitely a unique and useful item!

Surprised at how well this works! Will hold up to 6” of rain water. It’s not glass so no chance of breakage. Hurricane Helene did cause the inner measuring piece to pop out. It couldn’t handle the 13” of rain

This is the first rain gauge we can have up all winter and is easy to see from the house!It takes a long time to come though. After I ordered it I realized this was not the made in USA brand. I think it came from China.

This item is a replacement for the older model that used real copper for the outside tube and glass for the water gauge. The current item is approximately the same size and works in the same way, but it is constructed of much lighter/cheaper plastic materials. It works well for now, but not at all sure how well it will hold up over time compared to the older model which lasted for many years.

While it looks cute, the inner plastic measuring tube doesn't 'float' well and appears to stick inside of the outside plastic rain catcher. Too often if we get an inch of rain it will barely register unless you go and move the inner tube a little. Will look for one that you don't have to fuss with.

So the outer sleeve is NOT copper but it is copper-colored plastic. It isn’t a deal killer for me because I wanted the functionality of this rain gauge but didn’t want to spend the $50-$60 on the name brand one.
