Make sure you install in the proper direction, arrow pointing downstream with the flow of the water. For standard flow valves the solenoid is most often located on the downstream side or outflow side of the valve. The RainBird name is well know in the irrigation industry as a leading manufacturer of the highest quality valves. The DV/DVF valves are great for low flow applications, such as, landscape drip irrigation. Although, for flows below 3 GPM, RainBird recommends using a 200 mesh filter upstream of the valves. RainBird valves are compatible with any standard sprinkler controller. Would I recommend this valve: yes!I ordered this valve specifically because it was a slip valve and it worked great. I previously installed a threaded valve that required additional pvc pipe fitting, so ordering this one was great because I had less parts plus my previously replaced one had a leak within the threads. This valve worked great and was an easy install. If you want to skip the additional parts, this is your valve. Keep in mind that this is a 1 inch piping valve and requires PVC primer and cement. No issues with electrical wiring. Solenoid can be replaced in the future with available replacements. This valve had a flow/ restriction valve in case you need to change the flow/ pressure. Valve has a vent valve to release air pressure in valve when bring it online, import step is to vent when turning water back on.Shipping: arrived within ordered timeframe. If ordering through manufacturer, it would have taken twice as long.Packaging: no issues, came with instructions, did not have the original info manufacturer paper attached (left valve bought at hardware store) to valve like the ones found at our local hardware store.Quality: will update if any issues within manufacturer’s warranty period.Price: comparable to others found online.

Was able to use the bladder only in this new unit.... will save the actual valve for future. System did not work properly until I was able to replace with parts from the new unit.

This is a 1" Rain Bird valve, however the description and labels are incorrectly marked as "slip" connection. I could have bought threaded connection valves for about $7 cheaper each on Amazon if I wanted threaded connections.
