This is a good in line rainwater diverted that you install in line with your gutter spouts. I've got it hooked up to a barrel that I use to collect rainwater for my garden. It fits standard spouts well, works great to divert and you can shut the diversion off to let it flow normally. Looks good, matches my house trim.

This set consists of 2 plastic parts that fit into the downspout stream, a plastic flexible hose, a hose clamp, and a plug for use when water collection is not needed. The 2 main parts are good quality solid plastic that fit well into each other and into the downspout segments. It's necessary to cut a segment of native downspout out. It fit well into my 3x4 inch spout and looks like it would also do fine with the smaller 2x3 inch spouts (but I can't confirm this). The design is a bit peculiar- the water flowing along the outside part of the upper spout is diverted into the hose but the central part is open and will allow water going down to continue normally to the lower spout and onto the ground. I cannot tell if this is a real problem in practice but seems like it would be less efficient than a system that allows total collection, perhaps with a movable internal flap that would allow some control of the amount of rainwater collected. There is no means of securing the 2 parts other than reattaching the upper and lower segments of downspout to hold them in place. After the installation of the 2 plastic pieces, the hose is attached to the diverter assembly with a hose clamp. Both the hose and hose clamp are low quality- flimsy and likely to require replacement after a few months of exposure to the elements. This item is an economical solution to rainwater collection. It's a decent value but you can get better design if you're willing to pay more.
