Couldn't find replacement shocks for my R4tech suspension. No one had a direct part number. Using standard Rancho 9000's (original part). Don't know what the "custom valving" was of the original units, but these work fine.

Product worked well in my '04 Sierra 3500, now the rear suspension works much better than with the old shocks. Came quickly and were straightforward to install. Could have used installation instructions with torque specs...

I bought a full set of 4 Rancho 9000s because of their raved performance for towing. I removed the $30 OEM shocks from my Yukon (which turned out to still be in good working order) and installed the Rancho 9000s. With the rear shocks dialed to 9, my 21' boat with 11% tongue weight on the tandem axle trailer caused a significant sagging in the rear of the vehicle.... Enough for my spare trailer tire to be within 2" of the ground.I installed an Airlift 1000 rear air spring kit and got the vehicle back to riding about where it was originally with the OEM shocks. If I had more time before starting a cross country move, I would have put the original shocks back in and returned the rear Ranchos. The Ranchos I installed in the front seem to be performing just fine and my empty ride has improved due to changing a bad front shock. Aside from that, putting the Ranchos in the rear made towing uncomfortable. The GM shocks are beasts and are up to the task of towing. The Air Lift rear air spring kit is worth the investment but the $160 worth of rear Ranchos were a waste of time and money.

Mine came from TSETruckStuff with free shipping and they came incredibly fast (just a few days). Installation was easy. For a 2004 Chev Silverado 3500 with Duramax I have the rear shocks set on level 3 (range 1-9, soft-hard) and that seems good for unloaded. The real test will come when I load the camper in the bed (I expect to set at level 8 or 9) and get into windy areas. I'll try to report back after that (probably after about 5 months).6 MONTH UPDATE - Loaded a 2600 lb. Lance camper in the bed and just got back from a 13k mile trip. I had to set both front and rears to 9, and I wish it could be firmer. It is slightly better/firmer than the unadjustable Bilsteins which were VERY good all-around, loaded or unloaded. With the camper loaded, handling with the Ranchos was very good, although I didn't hit any really strong cross-winds. Maybe on the next trip...

they work better then any shocks i've ever had! i have them on a 2003 chevy suburban that is on 28 inch rims! i decided to upgrade my entire suspension and went with these shock on front and back.. perfect fit and cool adjustment knob to stiffen the ride or soften it up! rides better then expected and handles like a sport suspension specially on the curves and turns..

I never really gave my shocks much thought. I have 140k on my Chevrolet truck. After I changed them in my driveway in about 30 minutes I no longer had to cringe when I hit a rough road or pot hole. I was so impressed and I only changed the rear shocks. Can't wait till the fronts get swapped out but I will most likely have a shop do that work.

I bought these for a 2001 Chevy Tahoe, be aware that the 2001 Tahoe has the Auto Ride shocks and these will not work when towing.

I installed them on my Chevy Avalanche Z71 2004, what a difference !You'll enjoy the firmness on the free/highways and the softness on the trails.Quite easy to change the softness w/the little knob, take about 1 min. to set up the 4 shocks. One thing, when you change/rotate/work on your truck set the shocks at the harder setup.Enjoy'em !

I have purchased these shocks for other trucks and once again I am not disappointed. We tow and load on and off our very stiff stock Dodge Truck. These have made our ride so much better. Can't wait until we can buy some for the front of the truck.
