I used after evaporating my dad's old tools. Rust started to form on some of the tools after using this spray. Maybe because it is water based?

At first use I was wondering if I was just putting water on steel. I mean it looks like nothing and smells like nothing. But one dry it leaves a nice matte shine on tools. Looks like it is protecting the steel. I use it on pliers , wrenches and hammers. Some that stay outside and they look great a month later. I also use it on padlocks. I have mainly used it after I soak the metal parts in an ultrasonic cleaner just to avoid flash rust from showing up on perfectly cleaned yard-sale tools. Or after I use their other product evapo-rust.

I used Evaporust to remove rust from originally plated bolts and hooks in a pick up truck bed. Evaporust removed the rust. I followed the instructions for the rust inhibitor but the rust came right back.

I had spent the better part of the day removing the rust from my truck, and getting it prepped to paint. I figured I’d paint it when I had time, after seeing this product. The one pic is after I had removed the rust. The other is after one day of rain, after following the instructions of this product.Back to having to remove rust. Thanks. Totally worthless product

Terrible product clearly not a rust preventitive.This was after letting it dry. Wish I could give it negative stars. Stay away from this product.

Works fairly well on an item that can be layed flat and coated well. With objects that canno ne layed flat it tends to drip off before fully transforming the rust, requiring multiple applications to clean the part.
